Via foolsball:

Fujian and Shandong have both departed from the Yulin Naval Base. Shandong had just left port, still surrounded by several tugs; Fujian had already begun accelerating southwestward, accompanied by at least 2 Type 055 and 1 Type 054. the photo shows rough sea conditions.

I think Japan's calculus is to drag US into it. Sneak attack is a characteristic of Japan. It did the first hit and banking on US military to follow up. Looks like Fujian is top of their wish list.
I think China shouldn't have only hainan base. It should have multiple locations in south to spread out the fleet so it wont caught in another pearl harbor.

The serial-production J-35s have finally made it onboard Fujian this time around, instead of the prototype units as seen during its first CATOBAR operation during her sea trials.

Hopefully they can have the escorting DDGs and FFGs sail closer to (and right by) Fujian during these kinds of shots. Gotta re-enact that "carrier strike group" feel from Battlefield 3 XD...
