Shandong went through 9 sea trials and about 85-90 days total before commissioning. Fujian has done 7 sea trials and 109 day so far.

I believe Fujian has gone more than half way or even 2/3 through the sea trial program. May be we will see 4 or 5 more sea trials before the hand-over to PLAN by ship builder. Thus Fujian will likely be getting commission in early 2026, possibly Q1, and IOC in 2027, and FOC in 2028/2029.

Shenyang AVIC will have to deliver at least a full compliment of 48(?) J35 in next 3-4 years.

I think deliver 36 J35/J35A per year is an ideal production pace, since we all know its working on next gen fighter already, J35 is on massive production and no further development.

It’s air wing might have higher quality, because..

J-35 should be better than F-35C
J-15T should be better than F/A-18E/F
J-15D should be better than EA-18G
KJ-600 should be better than E-2
PL-15 is better than AIM-120.

It lacks only numerical superiority.

It will probably take a few years to hit 36 a year, just look at how it took J-20 a few years to scale up. Also CAC greatly decreased J-10 production when they greatly expanded J-20 production but PLAAF probably doesn't want to majorly shrink J-16 production at SAC. Still SAC should be able to deliver full air complement in 3-4 years yeah.

Yeah overall given how PLAN has more modern airframes and rough tech parity there is a good case to be made PLAN air wing is better. However I'm not sure it's better enough vs F-35C to overcome numerical superiority and there is still the range advantage of CVN although that's more a strategic situation thing than a tactical thing. Still Fujian is a few years away from FOC so there's still time for things to change. We know US is pushing for AIM-260 asap. China probably has something in the works there too who knows.
