The construction of the Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard towards the right doesn't seem to be anywhere near completion??? Seriously, was hoping that we could see the mass construction of the 054B FFGs and 076 LHDs as soon as the moving of Hudong-Zhongua to Changxin Island is complete this year!

Was there any expectation that the moving of HDZH to Changxing would be moving faster than this?

Feels like whatever plan they had may have been put on pause... At least for now. Maybe indefinitely. Things happened in the meantime, from Evergrande to the ratchet up in geopolitical tensions to the huge queue of LNG tanker orders. Anyway it looks like 054B might be built in the old yard.

My first thought was that the move may have depended on a property development deal for the old yard which has been delayed or fallen through.

I think we are expecting too much from China's construction miracles. This is the photo at December 2021. I expect the project to be completed in 36 to 48 months, so probably it will be completed next year.

I guess we'll have to content ourselves with five destroyers coming out of just one dock in Dalian while the US in its entirety can barely put together a couple of destroyers in a year. Aw-shucks, can't win 'em all.

I'm not talking about destroyers, nor was I focusing much on frigates. I'm talking about semi-carriers (准航母), i.e. 076 LHDs.
