You also have the collateral benefit of reducing mechanical parts which improves the radar's reliability, less maintenance, less mechanical wear and tear ...
You mean the mechanical parts for the conical scan which rotate either the feed or the antenna? Is this a confirmed fact, that the 347G system does not use a monopulse feed? The new radar still has the mechanism to rotate in elevation and azimuth.

As a side note, replacing mechanical components with electronic does not by definition improve reliability. There is no shortage of examples where going electronic reduced reliability.

AESAs mounted on mechanical mounts or repositioners are not uncommon, even when the radar itself is already able to electronically scan in elevation and azimuth.

And Zhejiang
Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Guangdong are destined to be named aircraft carriers
Hopefully. However, the regional thinking of netizens does not represent China's overall interests. Beijing made the final choice at the national level. Just like why the first aircraft carrier is named Liaoning, it is not as simple as Liaoning being the first coastal province on the map of China.

Congrats on this achievement and lets revel in the tears and cope of the anglos who can only reply "New target ship!".

EDIT: Was thinking of linking the corresponding The Copium Zone article, but it is not worth it; they are just rehashing every other article they have written about it. And for the reacist, coping comments, reddit is more entertaining anyway.
