Saying CV17 is a copy is an insult to all engineers and designers in the world. Many nations can’t even make a needle let alone a 50k ton warship with millions of parts and indegineous hardware.
Even if you were to give another country the exact and detailed blue prints to CV16, there are less than 10 nations in the world that have the industrial and scientific capabilities to create a warship.

CV17 certain does retain the design philosophy of CV16, it not necessarily the individual subsystems.

How even the original builder country Ukraine with all the blue prints intact could finish Varyag, hence that famous quote from Yuri Makarov
It needs the State Planning Commission, the Military Industry Commission, nine ministries of defense industry, 600 related majors, 8,000 supporting manufacturers, and more than 200,000 technical personnel. In short, it takes a great country to complete it. But this country no longer exists.

At the Admiral Kuznetsov there is a place where the ocean tug can push the aircraft carrier. But the Chinese seem to have more faith in ship propulsion and are forgoing that option ... if the computer model is supposed to represent the real ship.
Speaking of which, apparently the 003 doesn't have one...

Not sure whether they will add it on sometime later.

Good news, she's coming!
Bad news, the photographer may remain locked down at home.

The top image shows the current state of the dry docks. The bottom image shows the arrangement after the operation completes.

I don't think the carrier will be launched on May 31st. This operation is merely a preparation for her launch at a later day. According to a fairly credible Weibo user, the carrier should be launched sometime in early June, either on the 6th or 7th.

We'll have to wait and see, but I'd be very happy to be proven wrong.

The shuffling and re-arranging have begun.

These couple of photos, alongside a follow-up news agency interviewing viodeo that @捣蛋就捣蛋 posted, didn't have the 003 carrier in them.

My assumption is that the photography and videotapping teams have received direct instructions from the higher-ups to avoid photographing and videotapping the 003 (or at least, exclude and edit them out from the final publication version), and they diligently followed the instructions to the letter.
