Currently China aims to build up the numbers of carriers. So we may not see a EMAL carrier until the 7th or 8th ship. Goal is to surround and blockade Taiwan with about 4 carriers by the mid 2020s.

Not sure what you are talking about nor what's the source you base this on?!! ... but from all we know this is already an EMALS carrier and I don't think that with at least any of these carrier any operation against Taiwan will be doable in "by the mid-2020s"!

I would guess 2021.

Indeed, it looks like the ship is still on track to launch mid-2021. It's not necessarily sensible to compare 003 progress with 002 progress due to the completely different assembly method.

Sure, it takes more work as the carrier is larger and more ambitious, but most of this work takes place at the starting end of the process. By the time modules start moving into drydock, the construction progress will appear to accelerate rapidly, because the modules were all prefabricated and are just moving to be assembled.

They will schedule production so that the valuable drydock space will not be occupied by an incomplete hull while waiting for more modules to be prefabricated. Instead, all moduels will be completed near-simultaneously and joined together in a short span of time.

If it took around 2 years for 002 to go from keel-laying to launch, then it may take only 18 months (on-track for 2021 launch) for 003. I believe it could be even faster (maybe even 12 months?) and perhaps launch by August 2021.

A new large container ship belonged to CMA CGM shipping.View attachment 59599

Why would they move the container ship from here to over there? The first thing that came to my mind is that they are clearing the pier for other ships. If they are not putting another container ship there, I suppose, two of the destroyers will be pulled out of the fitting pool and transferred to that pier.

I guess that was the case, also in one stone for two birds, they are probably testing moving a large ship from the location just off dry dock #4 to the new harbour basin as a prelude to moving the transport barge to the fabrication yard as well as moving the supper modules of CV-XX in opposite direction.

Another point is the older harbour basin is too small for super size ships while this new one is more than sufficiently large. So IMO we will see more of these huge ships in this new harbour basin.

And how do you think should be accomplished?? ... maybe you mean October 2021?!
The modules are built at best half in level up to the deck, they are still not in the drydock and mated, the deck itself isn't ready nor the island .... o_O

003 is - even if constructed in a different way to 002 - surely not even up to this state, when for 002 the hangar deck was added:

... and that was in October 2015, about 18 months before 002 was launched in April 2017.

By a rough estimation, 003 is probably comparable to the 002 in September 2015. But that's debatable.

Or is this a type or do you mean something different with "launch"??

This is a launch for much and this is plain impossible for the 003 carrier this year:

So in summary: Either you explain, where this misinterpretation is from or why do you think they could manage launch for 003 within 6 months, what took more than 18 months for 002 or stop with such unsubstantial claims!?

Start construction, launch, sea trial, deliver troops

003 will finish The second step on Oct 2020

At the end of 2013, the Dalian Shipyard held a cutting ceremony for aircraft carrier steel plates, which meant that the first domestic aircraft carrier in China was officially started construction.
On April 26, 2017, China's first domestic aircraft carrier was officially launched in Dalian.
After four years

The aircraft carrier 003 has already started construction in 2015, and launching in 2020 is logical

After cutting of steel for 003 in 2015, there was a delay of 1 to 2 years due to changes on the original blue print (choice of steam or EMALS) as per Huahua's postings in CJDBY several years ago (2016-2017?). So 2H 2021 or 1H 2022 would be realistic.

Huahua was obviously a member of the design team, he voiced out he and his teammates' grievances on re-drawing of blue prints and non-stop over-times. He has not been posting much since then.

What a plain stupid post: the 003 is a vastly different carrier to 002, you cannot compare both from cutting first metal to launch esp if it today is in a state of construction 002 had about 18 months before launch.

So please explain how they should manage to finish a work on a larger and more complex vessel in 6 months for what they needed three times the time on a smaller and less complex one?

And please don't say its a matter of will!

... nothing is logical on your post.
