Guancha team did their livestream last night mostly about Fujian, you can rewatch it here:

I like the part where they were shit talking Navy Lookout for his sour-ness.

There's also a

exclusively on Fujian and PLAN carrier history on qingting, I'm still going through it at the moment. Yankee already revealed an interesting fact: the carrier version JL-10 isn't called JL-10J or JL-10H or anything like that, it actually has the rather weird name "教-15". The reason this thing hasn't shown up in Liaoning and Shandong is because their arresting wires are setup to handle J-15 exclusively and is too stiff for the smaller 教-15 (JL-15?). Fujian doesn't have this problem as its arresting wire resistance can be easily adjusted. There's no problem for 教-15 to take off from Liaoning and Shandong as it is.

I can only suspect that they are talking about some form of older arresting wires on CV-16/17 given we expect J-35/XY to be aboard them and obviously J-35/XY is not the same aircraft as J-15 meaning if CV-16/17's arresting wires are only capable of catching J-15 then they'd need to change them to one that's different.

I wonder how those two EO sensors right on the bow-edges of the ship woud survive monster waves from all-too-often violent typoones in the SCS

Talking about weapons elevator I'm now curious if 003 has a similar AWE like Ford class.
The advanced weapons elevator uses considerably less moving parts and carries almost 2X the load. It's also much faster and uses actuators and is electromagnetic.

Just wondering how vonurable are they carrier aginst ATACMS and USV. Ukraine pretty much made Russian Black ship fleet miserable. I know these carriers will be on sea during wartime but what are they chances Taiwan catches them offguard during initial phase of war.

The initiative of AR of Taiwan is on Mainland China side. PLAN would have been well prepared even before Taiwan release the war has re-ignited. So very slim chance of PLAN ship will be attacked offguard, can't say so for the opposite side.

No one will sail into a typhoon unless there is no alternatives. Any captain of a ship that sailed into a typhoon despite having alternatives probably will lose his job. The approaching routes of a typhoon in SCS can be tracked and forecast easily 1 week ahead of its arrival.

Damaged EO sensors can be repaired on the ship's workshops, and I am sure there are replacement parts in the ship's stores.

There are plenty of other weapon types that are actually more threatening towards warships, and you're worried about ATACMS?

And speaking of USVs - Being an hugely major player in the drone market, China certainly have already done (and will continue doing) extremely deep, wide-reaching studies and discussions on how dangerous USVs can be (and how to deal with them).

Don't see why that would be a problem ...

EO balls survive on helos/aircrafts at speed approaching or exceeding Force 5 storms and if it's raining, that'd be equal to a Typhoon.

EO balls are just as exposed on DDG/FFGs right atop the bridge. I'd daresay the flight deck/catwalk levels are equal or higher than bridge on a 3-5k ton ship.

The chances are zero because the carriers won't be anywhere near Taiwan and they will not be used against Taiwan, Taiwan is well within the range of land based aircrafts so no need for CVs for it.
