Oh my... Are we still debating the designation of PLAN's second carrier in Dec 2020?! Guys, before posting your thoughts, please double check your source (yes, date of publishing matters) as well as this very forum.

From memory at least one prominent US think tank (CSIS) referred to this outdated nomenclature quite recently. Just saying, prepare to deal with this issue for years. When Type 003 is being launched, we will probably see the next wave of type-errors.

It is an article by CGTN the TV broadcaster. We have seen site 81.cn (PLA's official site) posting errors not long ago. So even this is posted on MoD's website, we should not take every text as official and correct. We have seen 002 in official launching ceremony and shipyard internal meetings (blue banner and red banner), we have never seen 001A in such circumstances.

Yup it is batch 3 alright here it is, finally. And why is CV17 still in Dalian It is almost 1 years since she is commission. I understand she is going thru shake down cruise and today news saying she is went thru stress test of rush deployment (max launch and recovery) But it is about time she is stationed in her home port of Sanya
