Hi is this 22 days we're in a year or less than that
Thx

I am not sure if I understand your question. Did you mean that Liaoning only out to the sea 22 days for the year?

No Sofar this year Liaoning has been out to the sea 3 times
On was around Christmas new Year I believe it was 12 or 13 days not sure. Then there is this pilot qual exercise in Bohai sea where they certify pilot for Carrier operation not sure the duration maybe 8 days
I might miss another outing not sure
Maybe some one here can give better answer

Liaoning aircraft carrier promotion video
at first I noticed in Russian Internet so I knew it would be a cool vid, but actually it's great (as some know, I don't use this word often LOL), I've watched it twice now:

The Liaoning carrier changed the anti-slip coating of its deck party in April.

Great pictures. Those are not 'staged' but real men working in real conditions.

Real conditions but I would like to see china now getting down business and sailing on the high seas

Being reluctant to send these ships outside Chinese waters shows a lack of confidence

China needs to get aggressive with deployment and show its big ticket items means what they are built for

Sailing the high seas far from home doing serious operations

Does not do these warships justice

As they say crawl before you start to run. For a navy that never operate a carrier nor can they expect help. It is miracle what they have done sofar with minimum accident

The priority is to gain as much experience as they could, train more pilot and crew, Push the envelope of operation, formulate naval doctrine around the carrier. Not showing off
Anyway new video in English

In my opinion, both of you are correct. Indeed, the PLAN is still not yet completely comfortable with their CV ops. So they spend as much time as possible in a more controllable environment to hone their skills before venturing out into the open ocean.

This also shows that they have their priority straight: when implementing new techs, be patient and methodical and build a solid foundation. Using an old Chinese saying, "every step leaves a firm and solid footprint before taking the next step". It sounds very boring but this is how it should be done.
