Isn’t that what CY series of rocket delivered torpedos are for? they can get a torpedo from a ship to over the submarine much more promptly than a low speed drone.

Although testing the operation abs coordination of drone swarms from carrier decks does not necessarily need be done on the actual drones intended for service, but much can probably be tested using some suitably cheap drones able to accommodate the software and communication package.
I mean surveillance and not attacking submarine of course Cy series will be most efficient to kill sub

Talks about CV-16 doing high tempo exercise. They were out there for over 20 days and doing sorties for about 16 days. Had over 300 take off/landing during these days based on the Japanese observation. They think it proves PLAN is really capable of real wartime operation tempo.

20 days is high tempo? Ready for wartime? Do wars last for 15-20 days now?
Why not more?

If China builds their carriers to ( at most ) sail trough Miyako Strait and then head home, they should save money.

For peace time training, this is not bad given the current deck size. In war time, you would probably want the air wing to probably do many times that in sorties. They were probably doing sorties for 16 days and about 20 sorties a day. It works out to most j15s doing one sortie at day. Again in real combat scenario, it would be expected to do multiple sorties a day. How long they can sustain that is a different story.

I think they were probably comparing themselves with non usn carriers at this point.

Indeed: Via US National Archives Whereas the Nimitz Class could sustain 120 daily sorties with a surge capability of 240 sorties, the Ford Class can handle much more. The Ford Class can sustain 160 daily sorties and surge to 270 sorties in wartime conditions.

I think that's pretty obvious to all of us that current state in the world and regarding US/China relations isn't peacetime at all. Cold war or warm peace, that's more likely. So, I don't think that China making supercarriers for trawling in ECS or SCS makes sense. Why not send Shandong or Liaoning on an extended cruise? At least in Indian Ocean or central Pacific. If anything, Chinese crews will get more experience. Friends of China will be happy because of visits, and enemies not so much, but they hate China anyways.

In my humble opinion, China is trying best to control the tension of world, a peaceful trading environment is critical to China's rise. And sending carriers to other regions inevitably shadow economic connections with geopolitical concerns and thus is potentially harmful to china's strategy. And there is no obvious benefits of doing that.

Maybe things will change when China has 10 instead of 2 carrier fleets, because then appearance of Chinese fleets sends a signal of restored geopolitical balance and thus beneficial to stronger economic connections.

its clear China has the "carrier" culture

from the day CV-16 was launched as a matter of fact the way it was even refurbished it was clear China has started a very long and hard journey ahead of themselves they are not just building a carrier like India, they are building a entire new way of life for many in PLAN

you dont have to be the best to be a success

you just have to not give up

and Chines never gave up

China just keeps going until one day it will become the most powerful nations on earth even more than the rest combined
