Is this a perspective trick, because it looks like the J-15T sits considerably lower at the front? Hadn't noticed this previously.

A bit of perspective maybe, but mostly because standard J-15 might have a higher front due to the ski jump, whereas J-15T's front is probably closer to normal Su-27 family. I could be wrong...
