Actually I'm not sure. I heard it was invested in Biontech, but could be just in the vaccine. Either way, they are making money from this.

I saw there was supposed to be a small equity investment below. Since then the share price has tripled.

Under the terms of the agreement, Fosun Pharma has agreed to make an equity investment of USD 50 million (EUR 44 million) for 1,580,777 ordinary shares in BioNTech, subject to execution of share subscription documentation and approval from regulatory authorities in China.

In the conversation, the official said, Xi told Trump he opposed the decision to close U.S. borders to flights from China. Trump asked Xi to allow CDC officials into Wuhan, which by that point had been locked down. Xi played Trump like a fiddle if this account is to be believed. Although I dont necessarily attribute this to malice from China's part as the virus was still new then and they didnt have the data that they have now, it doesnt seem plausible to me that Xi could say with a straight face that there was no danger when Wuhan had to bs locked down and people were dying. It will be interesting to see the consequences if the article is true.

Actually I think Xi did not play Trump in a dirty game.

Xi said the situation was in control. That is true because of the lock down.

The virus is not a threat to the outside world because China was not letting anybody travel crossing any border without check and approval. That includes domestic and international border.

The virus was sensitive to temperature. This is also true, just look at the curve in 2020 everywhere.

All what Xi said was true. But the article omitted another truth that Xi (China) said at the same time openly to everybody, "do the lock-down if you find community spreading, do the case tracking if you find one case, use face mask, social distance. It is controllable". All the west especially Trump ignored this or even attacked these advises. Now the west pretend that they were not told?
This is just another attempt of blame others for their own fault.
