Beijing to test airport staff amid virus resurgence

Beijing will test all airport staff in the wake of continuous locally-transmitted COVID-19 cases in the Chinese capital.
Beijing reported seven more domestic cases on Tuesday, all coming from Shunyi district, bringing the total confirmed cases in the city to 20 since mid-December.
The city has two major airports - Beijing Capital International Airport and Beijing Daxing International Airport. The leading anti-epidemic group from the Beijing Municipal government said the tests will cover all people working at airports.
The two airports are operating normally. Before entering the terminal, staff are required to wear masks and have their QR health code checked.
Beijing Capital International Airport's official website said it offered over 730,000 jobs.
Before the city announced testing on all airport staff, mass tests were being conducted on all residents in Shunyi district. Beijing's Shunyi district tested more than 1.28 million people for COVID-19 and so far 1.23 million returned negative results.
Chaoyang district also tested nearly 400,000 people. All results came back negative.
Beijing has entered a state of emergency, officials stressed. While officials urged areas in the capital to conduct tests, they also prompted high-risk people to get vaccinated.
If public venues in Beijing cannot implement their anti-epidemic measures effectively, they will be recorded into the company credit platform, or face punishment if the case is serious, authorities from Beijing's Xicheng district said.
On Tuesday morning, Xicheng district reported 15 enterprises which failed to implement anti-epidemic measures as required, including a Carrefour branch, some restaurants and real estate agencies.
I think China should make it compulsory for every high school students to visit Yuanmingyuan at least once in their lives. Especially those Hong Kong and Taiwan (when it's their turn).

This is the perfect encapsulation of why the western democracies are on a rapidly declining trajectory and why western elites hate China so much. Their hubris is so great that even when faced with irrefutable proof, they insist their shitawful performance was flawless and that none could have done better.
China is always the proverbial fly in their ointment, as China provides living proof that it is possible to do better. The west sneer at China when it learns from what the west did right, but insists there is literally nothing in the world the west could learn from China.
The worst nightmare scenario for western elites is if their own populations start demanding Chinese style competence and accountability from their leaders, because right now western elites have a ridiculous racket going on.
So long as they don’t break any laws (which they themselves write), they literally cannot he held responsible for any fuck ups, no matter how blatantly obvious or how damaging the consequences. Just look at Covid as the perfect example. Does anyone here actually honestly expect a single western official to ever answer for their colossal fuck ups and the countless needless deaths and trillions of economic damage which resulted?
Hell, even when western officials and leaders do break rules and laws, it often transpires that those are actually more guidelines and honour codes rather than laws as we ordinary plebs would know them, and they don’t have any actual teeth, by design. There are countless examples where there is literally nothing that could be done to punish western officials if they don’t choose to take the honourable route and resign themselves when confronted with their own rule breaking. That, more than anything, has also done the most damage to western anti-Covid efforts, as the public’s initial goodwill and co-operation was fundamentally undermined and destroyed by such rank hypocrisy and double standards. And that’s exactly how western elites want it, so they can continue to exploit the loopholes they themselves put into their laws and regulations to enrich themselves and their associates while at the same time telling the gullible public that this is as good as it can get for them. That is actually true, the public just doesn’t realise the ‘them’ referred to isn’t the actual people.
