Found this interesting video uploaded in 2010 talking about certain powers releasing biological weapons on China, "a flu like virus".
I have heard commentators suggest on radio talkback that the reason that the main reason that they managed to come out with a vaccine so quickly is that they have chopped much of the bureaucracy in the process. What's your thoughts on that?Yes, we need to see the raw data to better examine the results and conclusions. With that being said, the 19% number would be the worst case scenario, where all suspected positive cases turns out to be positive. A typical positivity rate in the US varies between 2% to 50%, meaning that, among all those who display COVID-like symptoms and go to get a test, 2-50% ends up testing positive. Without the actual data, we can't be sure of anything. But the efficacy may be lower than 95%...
Well, my guesstimate would be at least another few months before we can see any statistically meaningful difference, even assuming both vaccines maintain the high efficacy. Although millions have been inoculated, it's still a small percentage of the total population.
Is this the same effectiveness like the other reports like 100% effective against being hospitalized or dieing from covid. But only 60% effective against getting infected. Pretty much rendering covid-19 to a flu like symptoms.It better be cheap
At ~60%, they better make it like $5 per dose.
@Dolcevita,Philippines secured 25m doses of Sinovac vaccine.
PH secures 25M doses of Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine

MANILA – Malacañang on Monday said the Philippines has secured first 25 million doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine developed by Chinese biopharmaceutical company, Sinovac Biotech Ltd.
The price is already known I think, at around $15 for sinovac. Coupled with the result from brazil as well it is not looking good for sinovac's vaccine. Apparently the 78% number is not the complete result of efficacy for the brazil's test, with the full result is planned to be released today, tuesday. Sinopharm on the other hand seems to has a better resultIt better be cheap
At ~60%, they better make it like $5 per dose.
@Dolcevita,
A fuck up by our incompetent Secretary of health Mr Duque, the clinical trial should have done NOV last year instead of today and had to wait for March to be certified. But we had to give thanks for the Phil amb to China MR STA ROMANA and the previous Chinese Amb ZHAO JIANHUA for their hard work in securing a vaccine and as you can see they still prefer the PFIZER vaccine and are willing to wait , such colonial mentality is so prevalent in gov't.![]()
Nov offer is for 500,000 (at that time plenty of supply) his incompetency had cause us that much, during that time the former Chinese ambassador work hard to secure the vaccine for us as a sign of Xi promise to Duterte. What he should have done is to put that vaccine for clinical trial for faster approval instead of today.Has the vaccine been approved for use?
He mentioned "But at least, 65,000 will be inoculated by February" which suggest it has or will be approve soon.
It's a loan condition from the World Bank and also I may smell corruption since he deal a lot with western pharma.Why do you say he prefer Pfizer? Does he expect any other benefit other than proven safe and efficient? Maybe Pfizer taste sweeter.
Yup to make up for the incompetency of Mr Duque, he let Duterte look bad, but as we say the buck stop with him since he is the president and even if he delegate that to Duque since he is not a doctor, he should assume the command responsibility."He stressed that the Sinovac vaccine is “proven safe” with 91.25 percent efficacy rate based on late-stage clinical trials. “There’s nothing spectacular about Sinovac other than it’s been proven safe and efficient,” Roque said"
