Goes to show what happens if a nation is not properly lead, also I honestly thought that doctors in the USA are supposed to be more courageous and more hard working the the Chinese doctors based on there media. I guess the world ought to stop looking to the USA for guidance ever again.

Even in the US the hardest working docs are the Chinese Americans.

@Gatekeeper you mass produce and store in -80 freezer, transport it on dry ice to clinic on dry ice or mobile -80, then the clinic can put it in -80/dry ice for long term storage and let it thaw in 4c before injecting.

Short answer it’s injected after thawed

The logistics are not too bad for developed countries. But there will be a lot of waste.

people must realize that in dealing with the covid-19, you either have the control or you don't.

by now China has developed a very efficient response in dealing with any outbreak, large or small: lock down the place, test everyone, send those positive ones to hospital, quarantine those who may have contacted with positive people, activate the tracking/tracing system. and life usually back to normal in a few days.

Yes I thought that. But then I thought if it's required to be -80 for a reason. And if it falls above this, the vaccine becomes less effective. Then by injecting it at 4. Wouldn't that makt it less effective? Or is it a timing thing as well? ie. It can be above -80 for a little while?

You can leave it in liquid form at 4c for 5 days. It will need to be tossed afterwards.

The logistics are not too bad for developed countries. But there will be a lot of waste.

We will see more candidates with EUA on the market soon. They will likely have more lenient storage conditions.

I'm lecturer in the UK. We've had to wear masks, face shield and gloves as well as disinfect etc. Students have to wear mask too. It's mandatory.

So why is it not mandatory in US where you are. Is it purely down to Trump, or is it more local politicians?

"Additionally, the Pfizer vaccine has a huge logistical problem. It needs to be kept at -80 deg to be transported and stored. Not many places have these -80 freezers. It’s very expensive."

This begs the question, does this mean it'll inject into a person at -80? How's that going to work?
Guess the world is going to have to rely on China for the vaccine since these vaccines seem to have too many variables and honestly, these vaccines seem to be chartered to the wealthy given how difficult it is to store and to procure. There is also the added problem that this particular vaccine is done as a mRNA which means this is an unknown and honestly is anyone willing to trust a vaccine that is obviously being rushed out

Isn't Pfizer's announcement last week the good news we are all waiting for?By now there must be tens of thousands if not more Chinese folks that have been given the vaccine and yet there is very little feedback.

Pfizer's announcement last week is overhyped by the western MSM, but the absence of data to backup the announcement is very disturbing!

Indeed! Maybe I should have called this out, but some interesting extracts from the article i posted earlier.

I think we should stop calling this the Pfizer vaccine, because it looks like the German BioNTech is the partner with the core technology behind the vaccine.

that the positive news about BioNTech’s potential vaccine (called BNT162) this week boosted Sahin’s personal worth by more than $500m (£380m) to around $4.4bn, while its two biggest investors, German brothers Thomas and Andreas Struengmann saw their net worth soar by $1.5bn.

...

In September, the German government jumped in with extra funding in September, announcing it would give the company €375m for research and development.

BioNTech reported a second-quarter net loss of €88m in August, up from a loss of around €50m in the same quarter of 2019. It will report on its third-quarter results later today (10 November).

If I were the German financial regulators, I would be watching these people carefully for sudden, massive sell offs of their stocks.

I mean, this would be like the perfect crime, would the German regulators have the balls go after them for insider trading and/or market manipulation and potentially massive setback or even derail their vaccine altogether?

The extremely sus details we know so far, as well as the lack of follow-up support details makes me somewhat concerned that this vaccine isn’t anywhere as effective as suggested, and the people responsible knows that (hence the ridiculously short trial period quoted to give the 90% efficacy rate), and may be looking to cash out before they are found out, especially given the colossal looses the company was making prior to this ‘breakthrough’ despite a massive injection of funds from the German government.

Maybe I am too jaded, but this is starting to stink harder the more I look into it.

You are most likely to be right as I now find anything coming out of the western world to be quite difficult to trust given how badly they are handling the virus at the current given time. They could easily being using what ever news coming out to be good news given how bad things are going and given the current infection rates being far worse then in China or even Australia, they will find it near impossible to flatten the curve without taking extreme loses, the USA even moreso given the current crisis's occurring right now.

How are China's vaccines coming along?
