FACT: Over 50 people in Fairfax County, Maryland had pneumonia of unknown cause in July 2019, and at least two died. In August, US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases closed it's lab in Fort Detrick, MD.

Actually the majority of first cases, twenty of them, were at the hotel where the US personnel were staying for the war games. there were seven original cases found at the market. There is a possibility that it originated in the US at FT Detrick's bio lab that should not be discounted.
I always have trouble understanding why some religious people hate science. If you are religious, you want to better appreciate what God has done for you. Isn't it why you read Bible everyday and go to church every week? To get close to God and to better appreciate what God has done?! Science is helping you better appreciate this entire physical world that God has created for us, isn't it? God has created this vast vast universe with billions of galaxies, each of which comprises billions of stars and countless planets. And this universe created by God has been billions of years old and can last another 4-5 billions years. Can you even fathom the power of a being who has created this vast, ancient and powerful world? Does that make you appreciate God even more? Isn't it why you study Bible so carefully, to better appreciate God's power and sacrifices? Yet, you want to insist that he created only a piece of flat land with some flashing light bulbs that's only 6000 years old? You've shrunk God's power by a trillion folds... You've under-appreciated God's efforts by a trillion folds... Isn't it your life's mission to appreciate God and to worship God? Is it appropriate to under-appreciate God's efforts and God's sacrifices? How can you truly worship God without fully appreciating what he has done and wrongfully underestimating his power and what he has done for us?
If you note, some of the most brilliant scientists have been the most religious. In the early days, most of the pioneers in science have been monks and some of the most religious people. They studied science to better appreciate God. To them, there are two Bibles: the actual book, and the physical universe. The book describes God's words, while the physical world showcases the actual power of God. Scientists' job is to preach to you God's actions. Just as you have been carefully listening to the pastors' preach to better understand what God wants you to do, you need to listen to the scientists to understand God's actions.
BEIJING — A senior Chinese government official challenged President Donald Trump's handling of the outbreak in the United States, accusing him of wasting weeks after the threat posed by the virus first became apparent.
In a wide-ranging interview with NBC News conducted in Mandarin on Tuesday, Executive Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng also hit back at the politicization of the virus.
Le, 57, offered his "heartfelt sympathy" to Americans fighting the crisis. Widely considered a likely candidate to be China's next foreign minister, he lived in New York when he was deployed to the United Nations in the late 1990s.
He urged greater cooperation between the two countries, stating that "the true enemy of the United States is the COVID-19 virus," not China.
"I think it’s really important for the U.S. government to find the right focus, the real enemy," said Le, a senior member of the Communist Party, who has been the second-ranking official at the Foreign Affairs Ministry under Foreign Minister Wang Yi since 2018.
Earlier this month, both the Republican and the Democratic parties released accusing the other of mishandling the Chinese political relationship.
Le said it was "short-sighted" and "irresponsible" to seek electoral gain as a result of the crisis. He added that the Chinese public was "angry" and "entitled to express their outrage" at the U.S. politicization of the pandemic.
