Can anyone link the articles stating covid originated in China? As far as I know most scientist cannot confirm the origin and Chinese scientists including zhong nanshan said the wuhan wet market is unlikely tne source

Zhong Nanshan said he suspected the virus might not have originated from the Wuhan seafood market. He’s not sure the exact location. We have no solid evidence suggesting that the virus started outside of China. All epidemiological data still point China as the original location. The genomic variations still have the Chinese strains as the starting ones.

Believe me. Given my current place of living, I am one of those who desperately want to believe that China is not the originating place... As of now, even the physical safety of me and my family is threatened by the China haters. At this very moment, both of my handguns are loaded and placed on the end tables next to our bed... I’ve own firearms for many years. Never have I kept my firearms loaded in the house... believe me, the threat is as real as it gets.

With that being said, facts are facts. We cannot change facts simply because we don’t like them. At this time, no matter how much I don’t like it, every piece of hard evidence still points to China as the originating location. Even when the Italians suggest that they found evidence for earlier infection, that simply means the spread has occurred earlier. Still not suggesting outside of China. People are also suggesting that the virus might be in human for many years. However, the evidence is still weak at the moment. We cannot over interpret data simply because it might bend the way we like... And we cannot mislead people no matter how much we don’t like it.

Yes, test and isolate, ease the lockdown gradually post peak, and rush toward a vaccine. You know, the things China is doing. But China has an icky authoritarian (read effective) government, so we can't do any of that.

Assuming he is in USA, there are no flights back to China right now or for the foreseeable futures

As for firearms, Ive been sleeping with gun under pillow and rifle by bed. Every time out in public I wear a voice recorder, and assume people will attack me etc. Have a nest cam home system, roav 4k cam for dash cam for car, front and rear, getting a bodycam too

Im using truecrypt and veracrypt for Full Disk Encryption to deter against bad actors that would seek to plant evidence to frame me, and VPN over TOR when on any sensitive sites on the internet. Tails works too, even manage put it on a raspberry pi.

Most of my stuff is done inside a VM using vmware workstation and go back to snapshot each day, all web surfing in sandbox VM. Plus use clonezilla to make base image, every week I reclone reimage my harddrive just in case.

That's easier said than done especially for people who have started a family in the US already.

Didn't Texas have a family who got attacked and seriously injured. There is also a woman who got beaten by three girls in Bronx this morning.

The SF Bay area is also a very good choice. The housing cost is high, but at least you don't have to worry about your life being in danger.

I’ve lived in Texas since I was 16. I know Texas better than anywhere else on this planet. All my friends and family are here. My career is here too. I don’t know anyone in China and I don’t know how the Chinese system works.

Also, to be perfectly honest with you, I’ve changed my allegiance once. And once is enough. For better or worse, I will live with my choice. I don’t want to be the kind of person that swings back and forth like a blade of grass in the wind... Not my way...

I do have confidence that things will change for the better. I’m a glass half full kinda guy.
