I don’t know if I’m just scaring myself, but I suddenly started considering that things can go very bad. Looking at how the US is handling the situation with:

poor leadership
lack of tests
lack of mandatory quarantine
not wearing masks in public,

What if incompetent countries all over the globe cant control this and healthcare workers started dying en masse. Infected start dropping like flies at 10% mortality due to no healthcare system. Manufacturing breaks down. Chinese lynchings.

I’m starting to see the decision making from the CCP standpoint. They had to stop this thing. A simple order to close public gatherings and stay home might not be enough if the disease never goes away.

@shanlung @Gatekeeper i am now scared, only countries taking this seriously are those that speak Chinese or used to speak Chinese.
My own numbers done yesterday made me scared like never before. And I am living in one of the earliest hot zone. That the supply chain will extend to the food and agriculture chain. Farmers in Thailand Vietnam will not be interested in growing rice when they are sick. They also need specific supply line that may be shutting down. I see USA and all other countries printing money as if there is no tomorrow. And there is only so much food that one can stockpile. And it seems USA now want to go to war with China. I am so glad China got DF41S DF26S hypersonic missiles and a lot lot lot more nukes than the 200++ bandied about.

And more likely than not, in 2 weeks time, USA be having more coviders than the rest of the world combined. Especially when the lovely young Americans got back from their spring breaks from Florida and carrying back more than selfies and lovely memories of big booze up .

What a lovely world we all living in and very interesting times down the road.

Some simple reminders.
Stay Calm.
Despite all, everything will remain OK until they are not.
Obviously this is not the end of mankind.
We can mitigate the risk.
No need to panic nor be complacent.
Assess your own situation and plan accordingly.
Be logistically, physically, mentality, emotionally, financially prepared.

On 8 February I wrote that when Phase 2 get under way, folks be so desperately trying to survive that they will then not be ranting and cursing China.

I never was so wrong.

The venom and hatred seems to be escalating even more and more and getting more vicious and despicable by the day.

Putting blame and worse on China and Chinese. Never on their own leaders for wasting the 2 months early warnings and totally unprepared for this tsunami because of their hubris that Western Democracy and regards for Free Speech and Human values and Human Dignity all that will be needed.

Does anyone have a good source with an objective timeline of key events covering the start of the outbreak in China? I am sure I saw someone post something like that but cannot find it again now. Thanks.

Oh How lovely that everyone is concerned about me.... 217 deaths 14,354 cases. Oh dear the world is crumbling around me....
Give me a break. The Flu in the US 2018-2019 caused 35.5 million illnesses and 34,200 deaths.
“Oh but the cases shot through the roof.”
Did they? The incubation is 2 weeks cases reported today would have been exposure when my post was made.
In case you haven’t noticed we are still in seasonal transition.
“But but there is no evidence that it disappears in heat look here where it’s warm or here where it’s hot...”
and they have a cold and flu season to despite that don’t they? It’s not the temperature it’s the behavior.

Oh and for the record despite working with the public I only have a slight case of rag weed or a minor cold. No fever, no dry cough just a sniffle and a body temp of 98.7 which is perfectly normal for me. Only complaint is I am running low on TP. It’s oh doom and gloom but I have a delivery coming in a week and should have enough. I haven’t been laid off and there is no cart in the street requesting me to bring out the dead.

I have a key event of everything Trump said, because I follow his tweets, and its not pretty reading. From in-action to we are doing the best job ever! And if I post those tweets time line here, I'll get into trouble!

Stay calm. I'm assuming you are young enough, ie: below 65. There is really no need to panic.

Just stay away from social contact as much as possible. And if you are Chinese, beware of xenophobs!
