So just turn your face and give them the other cheek to slap?![]()
That's why it must be a cultural thing. To bring it up gave it importance hence why the anti-China faction are mocking it. If they're mocking it, what ever Beijing thinks it's suppose to accomplish isn't working because they're continuing on doing it even more now. Like when Beijing tells the US that they're hurting the Chinese people's feelings. That sounds like a child talking and the Western media mocks it in other things where China hasn't even commented on.
I have a friend that I've known since elementary school. His sister has a baby daddy who was a US Marine. He's the stereotype of a Marine when it comes to politics. He's a Republican and hates liberals. He's loves to irk liberals and starts up political conversations just to get them angry. I never engaged with him before so he knows nothing about my politics. Then one day he was invited to watch a movie with us and afterwards we all went to a restaurant. So, we're waiting at our table for our food and this guy is sitting across staring at me. And then out of the blue he starts bashing China. A green light goes off in my head and we're running the gambit on political and international issues. If you ever debate Americans, there are taboo subjects... lines you're not supposed to cross. I'll gladly cross them because I know those are the subjects that will make them lose. And I gladly will use low-blows. Why? Because sometimes the only way you can communicate with people is to speak in their own language. He didn't show me any courtesy. I ran circles around him and I reduced him to repeating the same things over and over again because he had no more ammunition and I had a lot more. Today we're cordial when we come across one another but he never brings up politics. He's learned to think twice around me. Mission accomplished and no violence.
