Apparently, once moved into the 5-Eyes, the COVID-19 immediately evolves into a smart homing missile targeting sepicifically on rich, famous and political celebrities. /sarcasm

1, in Canada, there are only 149 confirmed cases, but somehow PM Trudeau's wife is infected.

2, in UK, there are only 596 confirmed cases, but somehow the head coach of Arsenal FC and a player from Chelsea FC are infected. Oh, and the Vice-Minister of Health, Nadine Dorries.

3, in Australia, there are only 159 cases, but somehow Tom Hanks got infected there. Peter Dutton, the Minister of Internal, is confirmed positive just now.

4. US only have 1686~1758 cases, NBA is shut down becuase 1 player in Utah Jazz is positive.

Now I understand why so many people are so determined that China's data is just a piece of iceberg.
Because they knew what would happen in their country in a pandemic, then just assumed China could "at best" be on par with them.

The only hope right now is summer temperature -- if the hypothesis that higher temperature can reduce infection rate is actually true.

It won't have any effect on the virus, but it will decrease the normal flu/cold and so on cases.

So the general workload on the health system will be less, and less complication / overinfection .

The only reliable data is the positive cases / all test done .

This was 1% in the UK few days ago.

So the full infection rate is more likely 1% .

The tests are for sick or very connected persons, I am sure everyone want to screen the persons admitted to hospitals first, and if test left then the high risk category with symptoms.

.

In an address at Downing Street, the Government's Chief Scientific Adviser Sir Patrick Vallance warned virus modelling suggests between 5,000 and 10,000 people in the UK currently have Covid-19 but most are unaware they have contracted it.

Human had encountered 2 coronavirus diseases, SARS and MERS.

SARS disappeared in summer, but how much credit should we give to temperature?
SARS died out because it could only be infectious AFTER visiable symptom. Medical system was able to cut the spread, just find everyone the patient contacted after he started coughing.
SARS outbreak happened in winter, then human began to fight it, eventually ceased it because of its weak infectious ability. Could the spread-temperature relation was just a coincidence?

The counter-evidence of such relation is MERS.
It is a shared disease for both human and camel. The temperature of the Middle East didn't kill it. 8 years passed since 2012 MERS outbreak, but it is still there, cases happens in a low but constant frequency. It is impossible for those countries to track and test every camel.

As for influenza, tropical population was also devestated by the 1917 Flu.

Here is my thought:
I think the dynamic of seasonal respiratory disease spike is not decided by temperature-pathogen relation, but temperature-respiratory relation.
In winter, our respiratory system lose many barriers and suffer stimulating coldness. It is we become weak in winter, not the virus become stronger in winter.

However, if the virus itself is strong enough, then it could continue its rampage even in summer. Smallpox was all-season contagious, 1917 Flu was all-season contagious.
I really hope this COIVD-19 is seasonal, but from what happened to that 2 HK tourist group (had been to India / Egypt for 20+ days and many started to have symptom after went back home) things are not that optimistic.

I don't really know much about virus. It is just a personal opinion.
