I skip a lot, or briefly glance through, missing many relevant parts and many times have to refer back to previous posts.

No one needs to be arrested? What's wrong with patrolling the airport with a gun? What's wrong with checking for anomalies? And are they pointing their guns at anyone?

Remind me what is weird about police at airports having guns? Of course police will wear isolation gear when dealing with unquarantined people, both for their own and the travellers' safety.
Let's examine this video a bit: these officers aren't dressed in riot equipment which is used for crowd control. Instead they are carrying shotguns and shields that are typically used by PAP officers during their patrols in transportation hubs:
Considering the fact that the travellers are all in one area of the airport, if mass stabbings or terrorist attacks were to occur, that would be an absolute disaster and a major loss of life. I guess the officers didn't announce what they were doing and people misunderstood their intention. As usual, Western media attempt to bs about the Chinese. They should go report Long Covid instead if they want to be more useful.
Nobody would be happy with being locked down, support zero Covid or otherwise.
