Coronavirus 2019-2020 thread (no unsubstantiated rumours!)

I'm about to pickup a guy coming back from France via Singapore on the 13rd this month. He is the nephew of my shareholder who I can hardly refuse though I'm reluctant to meet anybody coming from abroad. The guy is a Vietnamese oversea student in France. Now he wanna come back home but Vietnam has not open commercial international flight yet. So he chooses to fly to Cambodia and cross the border into Vietnam by land. I'm the only person who may coordinate his trip in Cambodia. So I may risk myself exposing to a potential virus carrier. So what I can do now is to virtually quarantine myself at least one week from all my family members and co-workers after contacting with this guy. There's no other choice for me. Wishing myself good luck!
The guy has arrived. He was taken sample for Covid-19 fast test at airport. I do as you guys' advices; open car windows, seat him at the back and no dinner. He knew some "girl-friend" on the flight who also want to share car to the border with him. Because the girl has some friends serving her dinner, I ask them to also take care of the guy and so my job is finished.

Did you read that article? It's talking about people voluntarily not going home for work reasons.
Let's be honest when written as voluntary in practice they were ah hem dissuaded by officials. You know how it works. They don't have much 发言权 and were dangled benefits by local officials.

Alright, all I'm saying is it's unfair some blue collar workers have to spend consecutive years away from family during CNY. Surely I have the right to be angry about this??

I can't stay chill about this kind of stuff. It pisses me off.
Of course you don't know the truth because you read the lair SCMP. You are pissed off by a lie.

The Chinese report is that "couple of local governments called on government staff, employees of state institutes and SOE workers to avoid travelling during Chinese New Year." They are teachers, officials, office workers (white collar) and SOE workers (white and blue collar).

The government is asking its own employees to set an example for the rest of society.

And now it becomes "unfair treatment of poor blue collar workers" in your mind.

You have problems in gathering information, comprehension of information, critical cross examination and anger management.

Yup, like I mentioned before, I didn't even need to read that article to know the headline was BS.

LOL, you're funny.

Let me tell you something, if the Chinese government actually wanted to prevent people from traveling, they'd be setting up stringent controls on train travel and flights. The government calling for people to avoid unnecessary travel is just a recommendation.
Lack of nuance in your analysis.

Of course I am very much intellectually inferior to the great @taxiya I have to mention
