Let just hope another wave in India would not cause another mutation like Delta that has devastated the world and especially the South and Southeast Asia.

China reports 75 new COVID-19 cases as Delta cluster expands
The number of new cases in mainland China, reported as of July 31, was up from 55 reported a day earlier.The new cases included 53 domestically transmitted cases across eight provinces, bringing the total number of domestic cases in the past 10 days to 284 across 14 provinces and municipalities.
The current wave of the coronavirus in China, which is thought to have originated in the eastern city of Nanjing where most of the cases have been detected, has put health officials across the country on alert following months of little to no locally transmitted cases.
mRNA doesn't prevent outbreaks..... check out Israel with 60% vaccination rate (among top 10 in world among major nations) with the Pfizer mRNA vaccine.... they have huge outbreaks.... even at 70-80-90% vaccination rate, there will always be COVID cases due to variants.
mRNA's advantage is flexibility to adapt to new variants and scale faster... but the point of vaccines isn't to prevent infection, but prevent hospitalization and death.
All vaccines (whether Chinese or Western) have +80 to +90% efficacy at hospitalization prevention and death prevention against the Delta-variant.... that's the most important point.

There are only so many variants than can develop and still be very infectious, because the virus spike protein still has to be compatible with a fixed receptor design in human cells.
So if you can get to 80-90% vaccination rate, with a few vaccines that target the different variants, an outbreak should completely die out.
