AFAIK China doesn't allow generic drugs or it makes it too difficult due to all the patent protections etc

This is why India became the "vaccine factory of the world" because it allowed generic drugs to be made easily in the country.

Obviously, each side has its advantages and disadvantages. But as you can see China is now making Covid vaccines like candy, so this is hint on if China's strategy is better...

@voyager1 bro in return the Indian gov't allowed their population to be a test bed for new drugs treatment. there is always a Quid pro quo and with this crisis and the Indian inability to deliver and export those vaccine, its an end game for most India Pharma company as the west especially Germany had stated that they will lessen their dependency and will manufacture most of it in EU.
