yes you definitely have low IQ, when did I ever say the death rate is 20%? back then I only said the total percentage of those who are in critical condition & those who are dead is 20% "either dead or on death's doors".
frankly I think you should change your profile picture, you are shaming that flag because people might think all Chinese are as ignorant as you are.

Again, more nonsense.

What use is that value you just calculated??? That's like saying 1 month is 8% of a year.

@manqiangrexue don't get baited, he's trynna get people banned.

No, because a month being 8% of a year is roughly correct. What he said is incorrect because he did not know that there exists a true estimate of the infected population which is magnitudes higher than the confirmed cases for all epidemic/pandemics, so he basically calculated (if he did at all) the percent of people who go to the hospital out of the percent of people who show symptoms mistaking that for the severe cases/ overall infection. For example, Swine flu's estimated infected population in the US is 61 million while the confirmed cases are in the hundred thousands. And he's funny enough to repeat that and call other people (MDs and PhDs) ignorant when they try to educate him. I really hope he's not Chinese because Chinese people appreciate and respect education; he must have been raised on pure melamine if he is.

Inhalation vs can travel through air is different i think?

You such a trusting folk as if MOH a fount of truth and wisdom.
When it is well known in Singapore not to chose to trust what the gaberment , or their bodies , there say.
I cannot say more to avoid siegecrossbow screaming Get back to topic please.

By all means, you choose to trust them, you can trust them as you made your choice.

Yet you're choosing to cite an Epoch Times article of all things.

Look, the original statement from a Shanghai official stated it could be transmitted via 'aerosol' and that was since repeated by various other news sites as "Chinese official states can be transmitted by aerosol" without doing some of their own fact checking first.

Other Chinese officials have since walked back that claim and experts from a variety of other countries have similarly cast doubt as to that claim.

There is no definitive answer as to whether the novel coronavirus can be transmitted via aerosols so far, according to medical expert on February 9.

Feng Luzhao, a researcher with the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that at a press conference that aerosol transmission refers to the mixing of the virus with droplets in the air to form aerosols, which can float for long distance and cause infection after inhalation.

But there is no need for the public to panic since no evidence showed that the new virus could be contracted by aerosols, he said, adding that the most common transmission routes of the novel coronavirus are found during direct transmission, which is caused by inhalation of air close to a patient who sneezes and coughs.

He suggested the public to open windows to help with ventilation at least twice a day, which is effective to lower the risks of getting infected.

Feng also said that the possibility of getting infected by consuming fruits and vegetable contaminated by the virus via direct transmission or contact transmission is relatively low.

Relax a little bit and don't be so confrontational please.

Feng Luzhao, a researcher from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, challenged the view on Sunday, telling a press conference there is no evidence to suggest coronavirus can form aerosols. Feng maintains that the most feasible route of transmission is still direct, which includes an uninfected person breathing in the air of an infected person's cough or sneeze.

@Bltizo I think there needs to be clarifications on infectious disease field definitions of aerosol vs droplets.

What is transmission by droplet contact?
Some diseases can be transferred by infected droplets contacting surfaces of the eye, nose, or mouth. This is referred to as droplet contact transmission. Droplets containing microorganisms can be generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks. Droplets can also be generated during certain medical procedures, such as bronchoscopy. Droplets are too large to be airborne for long periods of time, and quickly settle out of air.

Droplet transmission can be reduced with the use of personal protective barriers, such as face masks and goggles. Measles and

are examples of diseases capable of droplet contact transmission.

What is airborne transmission?
Airborne transmission refers to situations where droplet nuclei (residue from evaporated droplets) or dust particles containing microorganisms can remain suspended in air for long periods of time. These organisms must be capable of surviving for long periods of time outside the body and must be resistant to drying. Airborne transmission allows organisms to enter the upper and lower respiratory tracts. Fortunately, only a limited number of diseases are capable of airborne transmission.

Diseases capable of airborne transmission include:

  • Tuberculosis
  • Chickenpox
  • Measles

(I hope I score brownie points from Bltizo this time by not using Epoch Times as he not enamoured with that)

An extract

Researchers used a combination cell phone tracking data and flight trackers to trace travelers paths.

The result is a red scribble of trajectories to 382 cities elsewhere in China and in countries the world over.

A map based on data from flight and cell phone data tracking by Southampton University researchers shows how 60,000 out of some 60,000 people who left Wuhan after the coronavirus outbreak began but before the city was locked down have crisscrossed the globe.

And remember, it taken just 1 gentleman from Hongkong ( I know. It got shouted enough that cruise ships natural incubator of viruses) on a ship.
And just 1 gentleman from UK who decided to do skiing in France on way back and checking out his friends.

Phase 2 is coming, like it or not!

And NCV can mutate to a more harmless form.
And also can mutate to more virulent and deadly form.

I been under Damocles sword the last couple of weeks in Singapore.

Not knowing if it dropped already on me, or to drop later today, or perhaps in a few days time.

I feel comforted I am not alone.
And in time, the rest of you might well be enjoying that kind of wonderful feeling.
