Re: Computer Talk!!

Update your web browser. Preferably like the latest version of Mozilla Firefox.

Thanks. But I have both the latest version of I.E & Firefox. Like I said as long as I stay away from tinypic the problems are minimal. I will try to remember to use Firefox more often.

Thanks again.

Re: Computer Talk!!

I have Firefox 3.0.5 and I.E 7.

Firefox works much faster than I.E does. But it has some compatibility problem, such as the point-and-translate function of a Chinese-English dictionary doesn't work with Firefox. And I have problem when I try to copy contents of web pages from Firefox into Excel worksheet. Firefox pastes all content into a single cell. I.E puts them into different cells as a chart.

I had I.E 8 Beta 2 before but it's full of bugs, and finally I had to uninstall it. Microsoft needs to work more to make I.E 8 bug free.

It could be to do with your internet connection not working to its best. The problem may be coming from your side like for example your modem or it could be from the internet service provider. Some web sites are better able to handle kinks in an internet connection than others. Tinypic doesn't seem to be one.

Temporary solution: Press F5 !

IE is just choke full of security holes. I would avoid using IE as much as possible, and only use it when it comes to exceptions like the copying task you mentioned above. Use IE as a reserve. For most web browsing, I use Firefox, and I also use Flock 3.0, which is a redressed Firefox.

Re: Computer Talk!!

When it comes to browsers, the most amount of security issues are are with Internet Explorer (IE). Firefox (FF) probably has 2nd highest security issues but still significantly more secure and faster than IE. I mainly use FF with several add-ons. Where security is an issue I stick to 'Opera'. IE only when Microsoft refuses to accept any other browser ;)

When you have security doubts, use links. :D But if you use firefox, use noscript. You may also want to sandboxie it.

PS:

AMD off-course has been using and IMC/Hyper-Transport for sometime now. 2009 shows promise in terms competition. Saying that because Phenom II X4 pre-release data is promising.

Re: Computer Talk!!

You're going to need the extra security if you go around the mainland Chinese websites looking for pictures, the sites tend to be extremely flash player heavy, not to mention the high likelihood your IE browser can get wormed and corrupted in the process.

Re: Computer Talk!!

Tip for surfing Chinese websites: If you see a small annoyed dialog box asking you if you agree to do something or to close it. You might not want to see it, but don't ever click "Close". Because no matter what you click, it brings you to a place you don't want to go to. It's simply an image, not a dialog box.
