Yes, I think the engine should be in pre-production status now.

They need to log in a few thousand flight hours with CJ1000A on one or a few of the six C919 prototypes to smooth out any possible bugs, and also to set up engine production lines with all tools in place and the need to have a pilot production run to verify manufacturing methods work efficiently as designed.

I believe they have this plan B since Trump's first term. The Leap-1C engine stockpile will help to buy time for introduction of CJ1000A on C919.

CJ-1000A pulsating assembly line contract won by German company ''Broetje automation'' and this company is owned by Shanghai Electric. by September, 2022 the project has completed the pre-acceptance of the workshop.

all respective tools and automation equipment has put into place since late 2022.. the production line is running right now that's because CJ-1000A is in certification process you need many units for verification and testing..

all necessary preparation has completed. AECC just need to pass certification process.
