I'm sorry I never went to college. I really am.:( Well I have taken some college courses....but no degree. If any of you have any scholarships take advanagte of it. Because I did not. I had a "Full boat" scholarship to attend Ohio State for "mechnical drawing" but declined and joined the USN instead.

Good luck to all of you in your future endeavors...

Agreed. Good luck to all of you in your educational pursuits. I went to San Jose State University out in California (BS-ME). Not exactly the cream of the crop of schools. But good enough...and what I could afford. :) But SJSU did provide me with a good undergrad education, no doubt. The curriculum was rigorous, demanding, and definitely prepared me for the future. And Silicon Valley firms are filled with SJSU grads. :D I currently am employed in the commercial space industry. And came from Lockheed Martin as a spacecraft engineering consultant. And before that..US military.

One thing for you guys to remember, don't put too much pressure on yourself. I remember those projects and papers due around the same time as the midterms and finals. I chewed my fingernails to the bone the semester I had Rigid Body Dynamics and the 200 level Stress Analysis course w/lab. If I could go back and do it again, I would find better ways to deal with stress. Find something fun for you to do and spend some free time doing it. You got to find a way to relieve the pressure. Study hard, and find a way to blow off the steam.

Isn't it OK to just write 3 essays and use it everywhere? Most schools have the same questions.
Which of these schools are better?
UC Berkeley
UC San Diego
CalTech
UMAA
UIUC

Also, anyone know about New Mexico Tech (15000? That is unconventionally cheap.....)
Don't go to Caltech unless you are determined to go through a 4-year torture-like science training (not just education). But do choose Caltech if you are determined to be a scientist.

IMO, the best all-around school is Berkeley. Of course, I am biased, but let me say this, a lot of their upper-division classes taught at undergraduate level are taught at graduate level in other school.

If you care about social life, there's SF and Oakland nearby. You can get to them by subway train. I don't need to say more.

Sorry to hear that popeye. I may be wrong, but doesn't the Navy offer very cheap loans for college education? Or is that just for Army?

Yes they do. In fact they use to have the original GI bill that would have payed for my entire college education. But alas I only took a few courses. that's ok I do fine for a guy with no degree...just fine..

zergling is at UM? He never told me that...

Yeah, apparently I forgot to go around telling people where I go to college, so I'll do it again. I'm at the University of Michigan, and we're having welcome week right now!

GO BLUE!

Naw, I'm more of a hockey guy. Just got back from Meijer Madness... and I completely forgot to buy the things I needed.

So wait a minute, do you go here too?
