swedish guy article on CN. but his X post seem to be questioned like the x reply.
That's just typical German Green Party mentality. You're right not to understand; any rational person simply can't comprehend it.

If they don't go all out, they've accomplished nothing.

So they blew up nuclear and supercritical coal power plants before they had enough green electricity.

And achieved little in green electricity production, because you need electricity to start this cycle.

Dongfang Unveils Groundbreaking PEM Electrolyser for Efficient Hydrogen Production

Dongfang Unveils Groundbreaking PEM Electrolyser for Efficient Hydrogen Production

Key Points

  • Dongfang introduces a new PEM electrolyser that significantly enhances hydrogen production efficiency.
  • The electrolyser can produce one kilogram of hydrogen using only 46.7 kWh of electricity.
  • This technology promises to lower energy costs and boost the viability of hydrogen as a clean fuel.
  • Dongfang's innovation aligns with global efforts to transition to sustainable energy sources.
Dongfang, a prominent Chinese manufacturer, has recently made headlines with the launch of its ultra-efficient Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyser at the CHC Hydrogen Energy Conference.

This new technology represents a significant leap in the field of hydrogen production, boasting the capability to produce each kilogram of hydrogen using just 46.7 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity.

This remarkable efficiency not only reduces the energy needed for hydrogen production but also promises to lower associated costs, making hydrogen a more viable clean fuel option.

The introduction of this PEM electrolyser aligns perfectly with the growing global emphasis on renewable energy sources and the urgent need to address climate change. Hydrogen is increasingly recognized for its potential as a clean energy carrier that can help decarbonize various sectors, including transportation, energy storage, and industrial processes.

With Dongfang's latest innovation, the company aims to enhance the attractiveness of hydrogen as a sustainable energy solution, which is crucial for fostering a hydrogen economy. Dongfang has positioned itself as a leader in the electrolyser market, and this new product underscores its commitment to developing cutting-edge technologies that address energy efficiency and sustainability.

By reducing the electricity requirement for hydrogen production, Dongfang's PEM electrolyser not only contributes to the ecological benefits of hydrogen but also helps mitigate the economic challenges associated with its production. As the world increasingly looks for alternatives to fossil fuels, innovations like Dongfang's PEM electrolyser could play a pivotal role in accelerating the adoption of hydrogen technologies.

The company's advancements reflect a broader trend towards creating cleaner and more efficient energy solutions, a necessary shift in the fight against climate change.

Furthermore, with ongoing investments and research in hydrogen technologies, there is potential for further advancements that could further optimize production processes and expand applications for hydrogen across various industries.

In summary, Dongfang's launch of its ultra-efficient PEM electrolyser is a promising development for the hydrogen industry, signaling a positive shift towards more sustainable energy practices and enhancing the feasibility of hydrogen as a key player in the future energy landscape.

The weixin article got the unit wrong. It’s 480k tons of calcium ammonium nitrate

The project is positioned as Kenya's first green ammonia facility and one of its largest industrial developments, targeting 480,000 tonnes per year of fertiliser output. It will use 165MW of geothermal baseload power to produce hydrogen, which will then be converted into ammonia, urea and calcium ammonium nitrate for agricultural use. In its initial phase, the facility is expected to produce around 100,000 tonnes of ammonia annually, with plans to scale up to 200,000 tonnes.

A recent report by Rhodium Group shows that by 2025, China's solar and wind power generation had surpassed the total industrial electricity consumption of the United States. By 2026, China's combined wind and solar power generation will exceed the combined electricity consumption of American households and industries.

Meanwhile, the report estimates that the current electricity consumption of electric vehicles in China is equivalent to 1.76 million barrels of crude oil per day, an increase from 1 million barrels a year ago, which will reduce China's future demand for imported oil.

GCL Optoelectronics was named the sole winning bidder for the project, which calls for commercial-grade perovskite/silicon heterojunction (HJT) tandem PV modules for an outdoor demonstration power plant to be built by Huaneng.

The tender required modules with mass-production conversion efficiency of at least 26%, full IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 certification, supply capability from a production line of at least 100 MW, and outdoor degradation performance consistent with a 25-year service life. Delivery is scheduled by the end of June 2026 and includes a 25-year performance warranty.

Green fuel is a huge part of the upcoming agenda for many provinces that are well situated to do so.

I see huge pipeline projects also being developed for this.
They should gradually stop subsidizing their gas and fuel prices and maybe even tax it to make green fuel competitive. It's too hard to just subsidize all green fuel forever
