So, I've been hearing about China basically banning bloods in games.
They really took sides in this?

The only thing that happened recently was that some lawmakers tried to strongarm developers to reverse course on in-game purchase/always online model. But developers argued back, you cannot decide how we do business, it's going to affect our revenue etc etc.

And in the end the developers made them back down.

I thought they decided to keep some policies in place specifically for those who are under 18 years old. It wasn't even that big of a deal since most of their revenue comes from adults anyway but Western media like always blew it way out of proportion and screamed hundreds of billions potentially lost. I'm also curious on what's the policy for blood in entertainment. Seems anything less than a rating of 17+ has blood censored since many movies and donghuas (ex: Lings Long's Cage) have blood and straight-up gore uncensored.

So, I've been hearing about China basically banning bloods in games. I'm not sure about how the regulation works, cuz I remember seeing Chinese games with red blood effects. Such as Netease's Lost Light, or the Wukong Black Myth game, etc.

I would appreciate it if anyone can inform me about this more.
That's straight disinformation, like almost every negative news about China. I assume you also saw the 'news' about how China banned blood in anime such that they coloured it white, so it looks like semen? That's also disinformation. It never ever happened and was created by someone as a joke, but now it always gets reposted as fact with some photoshopping other anime scenes with white blood and people still believe this BS.

I've seen my family watch period CDramas and the characters do bleed red. Sometimes if what you see does not match the statement, it's likely not true.

Exactly, there's a lot of people online who are quite invested in punching down to make up for their own miserable existence. They spend a sizeable amount of time making up fake news about places they've never been and know nothing about just to feel superior to what must be subhumans (in their minds).

Hence a lot of "censorship" they purport to exist in China which was in fact created by themselves.

A Mihoyo documentary on cloud gaming.
It discusses the challenges they faced with publicly available cloud solutions and how, in the end, they built their own custom servers to provide cloud gaming services.
I am pleasantly surprised at the hard engineering capability that they have in house -- I was under the impression that they were a software & media-only company. Good to see them taking initiative.
