It feels like there's a bump just past the nose cone, indicating a cockpit; although it's faint.

This feels like a manned platform rather than a CCA.

So many questions.

Where's the chaser aircraft?
Normally you don't let a large drone fly around by itself without a chaser. And with it's landing gears still out, this plane is still in the early phase from its initial first flight--whenever that happened. [I could be wrong but they won't let a large drone be flying around by itself so soon after its initial flight. A manned platform however won't need a chaser after the its debut flight.]

Who's the manufacturer?

And although this is looking far ahead, if it turns out to be a manned platform, then is the PLA really planning to induct 3 separate 6th gen platforms? That's too far ahead to answer.

For now, it's all about finding that picture or footage that shows a cockpit or not. Feels like J-XS/50 all over again with the initial debut leaving people guessing whether it was a drone or manned.

Chaser aircraft are not required for every single flight even early on, J-36 made multiple flights post Dec 24 alone with landing gear extended. Also, J-XDS's chaser J-16 was seen banking off before presumably landing and judging by its altitude, this aircraft could be on its final approach hence it's chaser could have simply left formation.

IMO, I think we probably have to confirm whether this is a photoshop or not first. The initial 4 images are pretty convincing due to all being from separate angles and seemingly from the same general area due to the sky and clouds. The close-up one seems suspiciously too good and some thinks it's a photoshopped J-36.

But upon examining it closer it does seem to have a slightly different orientation than the original J-36 picture, I'm not sure what to make of it.

For me, the trailing edge of the aircraft in that photo is simply too clean.

It’s perfectly understandable. Since Christmas 2024 we’ve seen the China-dissing talk points getting debunked one by one.

1) Chinese fighter jets are always less advanced than Western ones — dispelled by unveiling of not one but two sixth gen’s before F-47 left the canvas.
2) Chinese fighter jets are always knock offs of Western or Russian designs — where are American/Russian doritoes?
3) Chinese fighter jets don’t have combat experience — 6:0 on May 7th through network centric warfare with J-10C and AWACs. PL-15 achieved longest kill in human history against one of the most advanced 4.5th gen Western fighter aircraft that cost lik 5 times as much.

At this point only the most delusional NAFO people (95 percent of whom are Chinese libs and Jai Hinds) still dismiss the potency of Chinese military hardware. So when half a dozen CCAs are unveiled they have no choice but to take it seriously.

Ayi has said in the past he feels bad for Tyler Rogoway because it looks like ever since the Christmas surprise last year he's taken PLA watching seriously and tends to write balanced articles without much chest thumping, yet all the TWZ fans are all NAFO types who endlessly try to play down Chinese advancements much to Rogoway's annoyance.

From his comments about them being "草木皆六" I take it he thinks they're been alarmists and his opinion is it's a CCA and not another 6th gen manned fighter.

Seen as it's blowing up and TWZ has written about it, there's a good chance they will talk about it tonight on their stream complete with Shilao going onto another historical tangent about CCA, loyal wingman, the S-70 shotdown and that movie Stealth, probably worth tuning to. I'm curious if we can get any info about how many CCAs are likely to be showing up in a month.

High praises for Deino and his ability to spot PS'd photos, people reckon TWZ should get a second opinion from him before they just go with the first photo they find.

I've just remembered that US congressman claiming that China had three 6th gen planes flying around in his defense for why the Navy's F/A-XX needs to be funded.

Many of you mocked his comment, but he might be proven right if this planes turns out to be manned.

I think his statement is definitive proof that this one is manned. It corroborates perfectly

I was one of those mocking at his comment. But will gladly stand corrected if proven wrong. Bring on the third 6th gen!
