Just an idea since it looks similar to the X-47B in XXXL-size ... do we have a satellite image of the X-47B?

The best I found is this scale model seen from above

Is there a reason you want satellite imagery of X-47B?

We already know the dimensions of X-47B (publicly published), with lots of high quality images of it when it was doing test flights.

But yes, there are satellite pictures of it such as this

A parallel thought to all this, am i mistaken in saying that there was no inkling on the chinese grapevine about the WZ-X and GJ-X existing/being unveiled? Unless i missed that of course. To me it seems not one but two B-21 sized UAVs just dropped out of the blue.

With so many different unmanned designs, I wonder what kinds of numbers they are going for each? It cannot be easy to train such a large and diverse mechanic & maintenance force, nor cheap to build all these designs in great numbers...

Vast majority will not be accepted into service. Losers some times find second life in export.

No noise on the Chinese grapevine predicting them, but we've had hints of various high end UAV and UCAV designs in the works for years.

For WZ-X and GJ-X, in a way the emergence of these projects are almost so obvious in terms of their size and likely role, that even here on SDF we've been able to indirectly predict the emergence of aircraft like these just through discussions of PLA needs.

Thanks ... I just did this by using the sale model:

Oh I see, you meant trying to scale them together.

Yeah, the size of the GJ-X is pretty stark.

Both B-21 and B-2 are bigger than GJ-X in term of area.

B-21 is 369m2, wingspan 46 meters and length at 20 meters

B-2 is huge, at 487.7m2.

GJ-X is the smallest among three flywings, at 308.43m2

Nice estimate, though I do have a feeling that I think the outline of the outboard "wings" of GJ-X might be a bit too thin. Even just intuitively based on the depicted proportion, they seem a bit small for the main fuselage body. Going by the thickness of the shadow cast by the wing (especially on the left side), I feel like it might be a tad wider.

The Guancha Gang mentioned in the podcast immediately after the discovery of WZ-X that the drone testing and evaluation base at Malan actually has multiple massive hangars with large main spans (widths). They described the spans of those hangars as "shocking".

So, yeah, there can be quite some "out-of-the-blue" moments for us outsiders and normies alike to be expected, particularly since December 2024.

The largest hangar is only 75m wide, accounting into doors and what not the largest aircraft you could fit inside realistically is going to be only 65-70m wide. It's more likely they are used for more mundane uses like solar powered aircraft.
