That looks suspiciously like a commercial remote control unit… I hope it has good anti-jamming capabilitiesThe F-500 coaxial unmanned helicopter developed by the Helicopter Research Institute of the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. It has a maximum take-off weight of 500 kg, with an endurance of five hours when carrying a mission payload of 150kg.

is it confirmed that PLAGF owns this thing? that means they also need to own the facilities from which to operate them.View attachment 104344View attachment 104345
Well this verifies one thing. CH-4 can be used by PLAGF to attack naval targets.
Isn't that just WZ-10?It's "Cloud Shadow"
By looking at other close-up photos, it looks like heat absorbing tiles.I am surprised they even allowed people to see the back of the WZ-8 drone let alone take high resolution pictures like this.
It looks like the back surface uses thermal blankets to protect against high temperatures from the engines. This is pretty sophisticated and outside the US using it in the Space Shuttle and the X-37 I think this is the first time I saw the technology used outside the US. Let alone in China.
It makes one wonder how they do the thermal management on the actual leading surface of the drone. Especially on the nose.
I am almost certain that they use hypergolic fuel or anything that can be stored in ambient temperature. I can't imagine LOX being involved.Do we have more information with regards to the engines? I assume it uses either LOX/Kerosene or N2O4/UDMH as fuel. It is way too slim to use low density fuels like hydrogen.
yes, they seemed to be operating from PLAGF air fields.is it confirmed that PLAGF owns this thing? that means they also need to own the facilities from which to operate them.
if true, it seems like the PLAGF is building a tactical anti-surface capability completely independent of the air force. kinda make sense given the air force has other priorities.
