I've been wondering about the WZ-7 and other Chinese HALE drones. With the US stating that the Global Hawk is not survivable in a peer-state conflict, despite it being the most capable HALE UAV in the world, will China continue with WZ-7 and other production or quickly move to a low observable platform?
well, they have WZ-8 and GJ-11. I'm sure they will have more in development that will be LO.

Seems like for the US, the cost-benefit of running global hawks against manned airframe are not really there, it makes sense since at that scale, a UAV platform is not much cheaper than a manned version, the U-2 outliving its successor.

This is despite the insane endurance advantage global hawks have over U-2s (over 3x flight length). Although they are also getting replaced by MQ4C-tritons.

Seems to me like the role of HALE UAVs can be partially replaced by SAR equipped satellites flying overhead in a maritime scenario.

Multiple Chinese media outlets report that AR-500CJ has successfully conducted its maiden flight. It is specifically designed to operate from naval ships.

Apparently China is interested in exchanging 5th gen fighter tech with Turkish drone tech. The president talked a few days ago about a 'superpower' wanting this and according to Straturka, that superpower is China:

To be fair, China's got a great variety and depth of drones along with associated technologies - hardware and software. I really don't think Turkey has much if anything to offer China in drone tech at all to be worth any exchange in technologies. If any Chinese fighter technology is transferred to Turkey, it would be through sales.

The "superpower" in question may indeed be India as India has been unable to make a single drone type apart from their attempt called Rustom, a really backwards MALE drone for 21st century standards. However, Turkey's fighter industry I'd argue isn't behind India at all and I reckon Turkey's subsystems in many areas are equal or well ahead of India's. Certainly better managed. So there's really absolutely nothing in 5th gen fighter tech Turkey can exchange or buy from India. I would bet on Turkey's TF-X going into service sooner than AMCA going into service.

Seems fake unless they are talking about the Hinduva superpower
However, analysts do not expect a collaboration with China as the Chinese fighter technology is not an advanced level.
