A lot of comparable airframes with differents and sometime comparable payloads. This one is interesting but I don't know if it would be less costly to developing payloads on a common airframe and engine than starting a new project. We see a lot of design convergence with these kind of UAV.
Yeah change the subsystem of a ch-5 or make some room for upgrades. Why build a new airframe.

If you take a look at divine eagle, the standard ch series UAVs don't have the necessary wing or fuselage to house the uhf antenna that would want on an anti stealth platform. You need an optimized platform

Care to explain.
Yes, because I see that the original content was deleted by the author now.

The article described how the individual radar modules which make up the radar array are not attached to some drones airframe, rather a new airframe was made which uses the radar emitters themselves as building blocks.

There is no airframe behind the radar on this drone, the radar is the airframe and so it must be able to bear loads and stresses just like any other airframe.

It’s the same concept as a NEV using its battery as the floor of the car. The battery IS the body. The Radar IS the airframe.

A TD220 was used in recovering the three taikonauts returning from the Chinese space station.
