It reminds me of the "metamaterial" some time ago. It could be it. I remember seeing a diagram of this radar. The antenna array is an one piece plate (of unknow thickness). The TR modules are connected to the array via other contact layers. The TR module is the ICs that modulate, amplify. This is different from ordinary AESA where the antenna emitter is part of TR module. Only because of the flexibility of the emitter plate, can such arrangement be achieved.

Considering the earlier claim of "mass production of metamaterial for applications including antenna", I believe this is the first practical application of metamaterial that we have seen. And it is certainly nothing related to "frequency selective composite" by concept or principle.:rolleyes:

First up, another rotorcraft UAV. Specs are as follows:
- Max speed (level flight): 230km/h
- Cruise speed (level flight): 200km/h
- Max takeoff weight: 1700kg
- Useful load: 850kg
- Max mission load: 250kg
- Hover ceiling: 2800m
- Max ceiling: 6000m
- Endurance: 6 hours (250kg mission load)
- Capable of operating in level-7 wind conditions
- Remote control radius: 200km (can be further extended)
