I wanted to know what is the difference between L-15 and JL-10

One is the name of the project and the other is official designation given by PLAAF.

it's not a small engine, it's roughly quarter of j15's thrust for roughly one quarter of weight of the plane. With completely new wings and lerx the lift created may also be similar to what j15 creates. Also to consider, jl9 is for training only, meaning it's overall weight will be two people and roughly two tons of fuel.

I remember seeing tailhooks on Dutch F-104's. But when a new version of an old trainer appears which introduces the tailhook you can reasonably ask what changed that the hook becomes necessary. In this case it must be the use of arrester gear similar to that used on aircraft carriers and not the use of gear at the end of an ordinary runway to stop an aircraft that didn't succeed in stopping in the ordinary way. This has considerable influence on the design strength of the tailhook and its anchoring in the aircraft structure.
This doesn't mean that this aircraft will be used at sea. It might be meant only for use on land bases to get the pilots accustomed to the use of the tailhook. We'll wait and see.
