New naval JL10 with hook? From HenriK
According to some sources, the device in the background is the first prototype of the JL-10 advanced training aircraft in an on-board version, to train Chinese naval aeronautical pilots. To confirm.
No need to confirm. This is definitely a real project. Now, given the headstart that shanying has had, it remains to be seen whether plan deems they actually need this. The recent shilao podcast talked about this issue quite in depth.

An interesting (although a bit awkwardly written) article from a few weeks ago about Sudanese interest in procuring Chengdu J-10Cs from China but I think the most interesting article is this section:

The Sudanese military choose this fighter jet to intercept possible attacks by the FTC-2000G light fighter jets manufactured by the Guizhou factory of the aviation industry, which the Ethiopian army got last year.

I believe this is the first ever mention I've seen of the Ethiopian Air Force purchasing and operating the first 'confirmed' export customer for the Guizhou FTC-2000G variant of the JL-9, and what is insinuated to be a fighter role at that if we take the l this articles claims at face value.

Ethiopia doesn’t operate the type, Sudan does.

I know, the Sudanese Air Force operates the FTC-2000, the export variant of the standard Guizhou JL-9. The article specifically states though that Ethiopia purchased the FTC-2000G last year, it is not discussing Sudan's existing fleet.
