exactly, the development of their shipbuilding industry and hydrogen/ammonia industry means they need to be building the best VLGCs and specialized VLAC to win over all this business.

Would you rather give up to technical challenges or develop the safest and most technologically advanced products and earn huge profits?

Would you rather manage your own fleet of VLAC and have the world dependent on you or let someone else take it?

Yes, building gas carriers, not just ammonia carriers but LPG, LNG and ethylene carriers, carry more profit than container ships and bulk freighters.

Another way to put it. How many countries are capable of building warships versus countries qualified to build LNG carriers (only three in this world).

even more importantly, China can probably source all the important components locally.

Machinery room for modern western warship are fully automated and computerized need only few crews to maintain it.by contrast russian warship such as sovremenny class ddg still require large number of crews to maintain it.some speculate plan surface ship built in 2000s likely analog.but ship built in the late 2010s likely fully automated.

Modern commercial ships, such as those 400 mete 24000 TEU container ships put out by HDZ, requires less than two dozen crew members to operate. So it's virtually robot ships.

Entire LNG carrier, length to length, is chained with temperature monitors and other sensors, with computers monitoring for any change of pressure and temperature. Each tank is double walled, the space between is filled with liquid nitrogen. The tanks have to be kept to a minimum cryogenic temperature.

It's potentially possible to go full robot on commercial ships but current shipping regulations won't allow it due to fear of potential mishaps. What if let's say a robot ship malfunctions during transit of Suez Canal?

今年4月,中国船企新接订单量达62艘、141万修正总吨,以修正总吨计,占全球新船市场份额的比例约76%;韩国船企承接新船订单13艘、38万修正总吨,以修正总吨计,占全球新船市场份额的比例约为20%。根据这一统计数据,韩联社报道称,今年4月中国船企新接订单量位居全球第一位,韩国船企新接订单量位列全球第二位,且中国船企在新接订单方面遥遥领先韩国船企。

截至今年4月底,全球船舶市场手持订单量约为1.11亿修正总吨,较3月底减少38万修正总吨。其中,中国船企手持订单量达5080万修正总吨,以修正总吨计,全球市场份额占比约为45%;韩国船企手持订单量为3845万修正总吨,以修正总吨计,全球市场份额占比为35%。

新船价格方面,今年4月克拉克松新造船价格指数达167.32点,同比上涨9.54点。从船舶类型看,17.4万立方米液化天然气icon(LNG)运输船平均单船价格为2.56亿美元,超大型油船(VLCC)和超大型集装箱船的平均单船价格分别为1.22亿美元和2.175亿美元

More importantly, I think they are able to build everything now including large cruise ships and the most technically difficult crude carrier and gas carriers and LNGs
