Has there been any updates on Chinese EUV machines yet? Last time I heard was that they were "close". Some were saying it's just right around the corner, I'm not really knowledgeable on this subject so I can't tell how legit their claim is
Closer than most people think. EUV Masks, EUV Mask and Reticle inspection tools and EUV Photoresist. All of that need to be make with a machine close to the final thing in mind in order to everything fit properly. China doesn't have access to ASML EUV tools so the only explanation is that they have their own tool or their pretty close to. IMO is a bigger deepseek moment close to happen.

Prof, when Huawei introduced it's PURA 90 with SMIC 3nm N+4 or Kirin 9040 (Kirin 9030 is 5nm) chip, then we know that the Chinese EUV had arrived. ;)

Okay, I thought people were trolling, then I watched the recording of that piece on CCTV 13 and it did say '5nm Kirin X90 chip'.

Now, I would still suggest caution as not all the CCTV editors are experts in this field. I'd be surprised if N+3 (or 5nm) is first seen on a rather large laptop chip. We should wait for further confirmation before getting too excited.

So if that's not really a 5nm chip., (why not? Why would it be a 12-14 nm chip instead?) what are the odds that a officially announced and presented 5 nm will be launched in devices before the end of this year? Are there any indications for that happening?
