Korean article on China's memory chip progress. I posted about CXMT above, but YMTC portion also interesting

  • YMTC holds 119 core patents in W2W (Wafer-to-Wafer) hybrid bonding technology
  • Comparison: Samsung 83 patents, SK Hynix only 11 patents (as of 2023)
  • YMTC commercialized its proprietary "Xtacking" architecture from 160-layer to latest 270-layer products
  • Samsung had to sign a patent license agreement with YMTC to develop its next-gen V10 (430+ layer) triple-stack NAND
  • This is a reversal — the Korean leader licensing from the Chinese upstart

Koreans also do not trust Chinese news in the Korean media because most of the media in Korea write it with anti-China. Along with the above news, they also posted anti-China news to stimulate Koreans. Repeatedly broadcast news that China is stealing Korean technology or Korean engineers. Don't trust Korean trash news 100% of the time.

Garen Semi/嘉伦半导体 has put world's first 6 and 8-inch Gallium Oxide epitaxial wafer production line into operation and have already delivered the first batch of 6-inch (100 type) wafers to domestic chipmakers.
