SMIC raising prices on 8-inch BCD and HV CMOS (high voltage CMOS). Due to TSMC cutting back 8-inch capacity and raw material cost increase, this has made it easier to raise prices on the chips really needed by AI data centers.

Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical Co., Ltd. has successfully delivered its first 12-inch monolithic silicon carbide (SiC) epitaxial growth equipment to Hanteng Technology, a global leader in SiC epitaxial wafers. This milestone marks a major technological breakthrough in China’s third-generation semiconductor industry.

The new equipment enables high-precision control of temperature and gas distribution through an innovative vertical split gas intake design, while featuring automated loading/unloading and one-click maintenance functions enhancing yield, particle control, and operational efficiency. Compatible with both 8-inch and 12-inch wafers, it supports larger-scale, lower-cost SiC production.

The fully domestically produced system is paired with 12-inch SiC substrates from Jingsheng’s subsidiary, Zhejiang Jingrui SuperSiC also a front-runner in substrate technology. The resulting epitaxial wafers achieve industry-leading performance: thickness non-uniformity <3%, doping uniformity <8%, and chip yield exceeding 96% for 2mm×2mm devices.


This achievement accelerates China’s progress toward independent control of SiC manufacturing, strengthening its position in strategic emerging industries such as electric vehicles, 5G, and AI data centers. Looking ahead, Jingsheng remains committed to innovation, sustainability, and ecosystem collaboration driving national technological self-reliance and the development of a world-class semiconductor industry.

Guochuangke Inkjet Printing Equipment New Plant Commences Construction​


On December 23, according to the official WeChat account of "Optics Valley of China", the N2 plant of Wuhan Guochuangke Optoelectronic Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Guochuangke") has started construction and is expected to be completed and put into use in 2026. It will be used to produce inkjet printing equipment for large-size display panels.

According to public information, Guochuangke was established in 2020, focusing on developing innovative processes, technologies, and equipment for inkjet printing manufacturing of OLED, QLED, Micro-LED, E-paper, and other related display devices. It was jointly established by TCL Technology Group, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and the National Digital Design and Manufacturing Innovation Center. Shenzhen TCL High-Tech Development Co., Ltd. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of TCL Technology Group) holds 23.6315% of Guochuangke's shares.

4.5 billion yuan! Northwest China's first 8-inch specialty process production line goes into operation.​

According to the Xi'an Daily, the 8-inch high-performance specialty semiconductor production line of Shaanxi Electronics Chip Industry Times Technology Co., Ltd., invested and constructed by Shaanxi Electronics Information Group, has recently been officially put into operation. This marks a key breakthrough for Shaanxi Province in the field of high-end chip manufacturing and injects strong momentum into the independent control of my country's power semiconductor industry.

It is reported that this production line is the first 8-inch high-performance specialty process semiconductor production line built in Northwest my country, with a total investment of 4.5 billion yuan, of which the first phase investment is 3.2 billion yuan. The project started construction in May 2024 and successfully started trial production in September this year. It focuses on industrial-grade and automotive-grade power chips urgently needed in the fields of new energy vehicles, green home appliances, wind and solar energy storage.

It is worth mentioning that the production line has adhered to the concept of "self-reliance" from the very beginning. The localization rate of the main process equipment exceeds 60%, the localization rate of auxiliary equipment and components exceeds 90%, and more than 80% of the equipment is compatible with the research and development of third-generation semiconductors. It has made a solid contribution to my country's efforts to get rid of dependence on key equipment and build a solid industrial security barrier.

Zhang Guowei, General Manager of Shaanxi Electronic Chip Industry Times Technology Co., Ltd., stated that the first phase of the project, a production line with a monthly capacity of 20,000 wafers, has been fully completed. More than 150 main process equipment and over 400 auxiliary equipment are in place, and cooperation agreements have been reached with eight listed companies or leading companies in the industry. The plan is to increase the monthly capacity to 50,000 wafers in the future and continue to focus on developing specialized processes to effectively alleviate the dependence on imported high-end chips.

This is great. A fully domestic supply train for 12-inch SiC wafer production. Substrate production isn't easy for 12-inch SiC. Many steps from what I saw


The interesting part is seeing the Chinese supply chain race past WolfSpeed.

The winning bid announcement revealed that the product model of Shanghai Microelectronics, SSC800/10, is the winning bidder. Although the official website does not publish information about this product, third-party information shows that this lithography machine can achieve a 28-nanometer process in a single exposure and can improve the resolution to 11 nanometers through multi-pattern exposure technology.

SSC800 is Krf and the A version can be traced back to 2021. I suppose the buyer is Yandong.
