Another example of US calls for alliances is really more about controlling allies than anything against China. Use China as a boogieman to scare allies into giving concessions on other matters. It will be interesting to see if the US's Asian allies give up their secrets so the US can be independent at their expense. First they're not allowed to sell to China and now they'll lose the second largest market for their semiconductors. Let's see if US Asian allies are that dumb to be the livestock being led to the slaughterhouse.

@AssassinsMace Sir can you guess what their decision will be? ;) for me the Korean will definite put a fight, the Chaebols are SK, its their national team. I think with this decision of the US, the expected FAB in TYLER Texas will be delayed or even cancelled and a godsend to China. The development and the R&D on advanced node will be curtailed, so the gap will lessen and in the innovation aspect the Chinese will be a leading force if the 14th 5 year plan had achieved what its planner envision.

You know what brother? Those Koreans do not have a chance.

We Chinese, all we gonna say is, "I don't understand English!" That way we avoid it, and do not have to do anything.

The Koreans cannot do that here, they cannot say, "We are Koreans we cannot speak English! Stop asking please!"

The reason is the Americans do not care if the Koreans understand English or not. The Americans intend to make the choice for Korea, regardless if anyone speaks English.

South Korea, when it comes to China or America, does not want to pick a side. That has been stated by commentators and understood. Now that seems to have changed. The Americans made the choice for Korea. :p

South Korea has chosen America over China, because America decided to make that choice for them.

When America says to Korea, "Give me all your best stuff." It is clear they are on the same side. People who share their top technology are always on the same side. So it would be self-evident that South Korea chosen a side, and that is America, because America made that choice for them.

Whether that choice is actually good for South Korea, that would not be China's problem.

When a state with the power such as America, starts to do this type of coercion onto smaller states like South Korea or Japan, they will fall in line and choose America over China, because they have no choice. South Korea and Japan are not free to choose. They are not allowed to choose to stay neutral.

China will definitely down grade it relations with South Korea and Japan, when or if this happens.

That is the curious part. China will down grade its relations with South Korea and Japan, but that does not mean America will upgrade their relations to compensate. Guess someone is screwed. LOL!

Looks like South Korea cannot stay neutral and has to chose a side.

If South Korea does not chose a side, then the Americans will make that choice for them.

That is funny! It is like President Trump taught the Biden people everything!

@horse Always like your respond bro, top notch! what you said also led me to think the SK will be saying to themselves WTF all those money spend on R&D and innovation are all for nothing...LOL So amidst the turmoil in the semiconductor industry the only true winner are the Americans and the Chinese...hehehe And Europe is stupid enough to sign up as their ideologue dictates it. I think Trump is the greatest president for America and for the Chinese a great comrade aside from Making America Great Again he pulled the Chinese to realized its Chinese Dream.

And another thing bro, this will benefit SMIC big time as well as other Chinese FAB operator. It will be like a Chinese IC Renaissance with the domestic equipment makers had achieved enough breakthrough for China to go it alone.

I think they're depended on American IP for their own tech industry. So, Americans can play hardball to break their industries down if need be. I think in the long run, it might make them more willing to use Chinese IP or build some of their stuff around Chinese IP in order to avoid American pressure.
