It is not as simple as you say.
S.Korea + Japan are both developed economies with mature institutions, companies and R&D systems.
China on the other hand is a developing country and has just recently started climbing the industrial ladder. By 2030, things will be very different
That is why Korean shipbuilding and nand chips industries need to be contained for longer term strategic reasons.
For EV, Chinese brands like Nio, BYD and Xpeng need to dominate the market. Japanese/Korean brands need to be expelled for siding with the big bully. That is why Korean EV battery industry need to contained for longer term strategic reasons.
I do show sympathy for Koreans, north koreans specifically. Hopefully soon China will help them reunite the peninsula

The two chose different paths and look what became of them 60 years later. One is a developed country with high standards of living while the other one is a hermit nation with African level development. I know who chose the right path for her people

Possibly I misused the word cry. I'm saying getting angry for / criticizing China bashing and sympathy for Korea is contradictory.
If you're not Korean, there is no reason for you to share and support what's the right path for Koreans. What I got to know is undeserved status given by the US with the purpose of containing the threats to American hegemony brings side effects and disaster. "a hermit nation with African level development" is much less harmful to the rest of humanity.
The best way to contain is to offer better products. Otherwise, it'd be shortsighted. The idea is to create an ecosystem where domestic companies create better products and domestic consumers choosing the domestic brands. The people who buy NIO doesn't buy them merely because its chinese, but because its technologically competitive. Same can be said for DJI. Nothing stops Chinse car manufacturers in creating top line products and solutions.
Asking people buy non competitive products for the sake of nationalism is not sustainable. Sure, the companies can tailor the products for Chinese tastes but technological supremacy is largely superior.
