China has a moral obligation to defeat the US, both for its sake as well as the sake of the world. This is the same regime that murdered 100 million indigenous people to create its country and is willing to murder 100 million more to maintain it (these are not my words, but those of Americans). All options must be on the table when it comes to dealing with these threats. Our cause is righteous, but depends on our own technological, economic, and organizational capabilities to make it possible. We must all contribute.
This is the same AIPAC funded guy who looted iraqi gold bars and said Slavery was a necessary evil. and wanted all Chinese Americans to drop STEM and read Shakesphere. and to give "no quarter" ( aka to kill in summary executions) any protestors

Should be obvious now if China fails so goes the human race

@Oldschool Samsung also has a huge software development arm.
Even many years back they had Bada OS and now they have Tizen.
They develop a lot of their own software on top of Android too.
Samsung has many research labs and software development facilities all over the world.

do they have the followings?

1) HMS or GMS framework
2)EDA
3)cloud computing

No sure what to make of cotton , he's a southern hick. Now he's talk about semiconductor industry in US and defeat China in the race. There is no semiconductor industry in his area and he is never in that industry. Same with trump. And Steve Bannon. They don't know the ins and outs
That's why they could only think of total containment , sabotage and scorch earth policy to defeat opponents.

In the same process, probably kill the US semiconductor and tech industry in the long run. US semiconductor industry lost about $110 Billion last year. Pretty dangerous to let neo McCarthy idiots running the show.

The SMIC factories names typically are related to where they're located. For example fabs named "S" or "SN" like S1, S2, SN1 and SN2 are located in Shanghai and fabs named "B" like B1 are located in Beijing. S1 is their first factory in Shanghai and S2 is their second factory. Then you have names like S1A, S1B, S1C. S1B and S1C are basically expansions of the original S1A fab but in the same location.

Other companies typically just name their factories Fab 1, 2, 3, etc by order of construction regardless of where they are built.

Seems like samsung softwares mostly geared toward their phones or consumer electronics. I think huawei softwares are more broad
1)Harmony OS not only runs on phone. It runs on almost everything else. Smart TV, cars. Laptops, servers ..etc I guess samsung Tizen would be similar?
2)HMS, its an ecosystem framework where third party app developers for the phone made the apps and uploaded into HMS so end users can download. Huawei allocated $1 to $2 Billion to pay out to third party app developers. Right now, HMS has million apps.
3)Cloud computing. Its not just for phones like Samsung, but their custom made AI assisted industrial control softwares.
Each industry would require an unique algorithm on their servers. Like pig raising industry, coal mining industry and autonomous driving. For example, pig raising industry, there are many input sensors on the pigs or environment and the data continuously feed back to server and the AI assisted algorithm would make decisions and send back to activate some controls on the pigs.
4)EDA, Huawei develope software to do semiconductor chip design.

There will be 2 new plants, which use mostly domestic equipment and are different from SN1+SN2(中芯南方 SMIC Southern), which use foreign equipment.

One is in Beijing, which I mentioned in previous post. The other new plant is in Shanghai and will be completed this year and capacity of 20000 wafers per month.

Both new plants are joint venture between SMIC and government.
Yes thats right. This SMIC plant in Beijing is for the localised 28nm Production Line.
It will use the SMEE 28nm DUVL and have all localy made Semiconductor Equipment.
It is an important project which will give China greater independence in Semiconductor production.
