Correct bro BUT what else will they sanction and restrict? Half assed measures produce mediocre results, It only shows that they don't understand the Chinese markets and domestic IC as a whole.

And it's a Pyrrhic victory for the Americans, we have to wait until next year to prove it when Huawei officially announces its 7 and 8 Kirin series of ingenious FABS Chips. What would Brandon respond? Do the Invisible handshake dance.;)
Huawei needs to promote more their harmony OS, since they still cannot use Android. Even with all indigenous chips, they still cannot use US apps.

The ecosystem is more important than the chip, Harmony OS has hit China's itch, Alibaba wanted to make an ecosystem for China 10 years ago.... but they were prevented by "foreign, capital" forces that "stopped them."

US thinks it could coerce EU and Japan to restrict and ban exports of chipmaking equipment to China within 6 to 9 months.

Bro its a NO Brainer, the restrictions are aim on its vassal, from our discussion SMEE and other indigenous equipment maker expansion will be finished next year. It's so obvious that ASML will definitely push back, can't say much about Japan BUT surely the domestic equivalent is ready to fill the gap.

I speculate that between 8 to 12 SSA800 DUVL will be produce this year, a Pilot run of sort before mass production next year. ;)

It may or may come true, but better to assume it will and prepare for it.

Assuming there is some truth to it, two implications for Chinese companies:

1. Fabs need to fast track more orders for DUVs from ASML and other equipment from Japan.
2. Chinese equipment manufacturers need to speed up their development of equipment that are still in need of import and ramp up production capacity of domestic ones.

They seem confident that they will succeed. I don't blame them though, as the US has multiple tools available to pressure the EU and other vassals.

I would say that it is quite likely that indeed, in maximum 9 months there will be bans for China buying advanced IC equipment from countries other than the US

There should be a push to fast-track ASML DUV orders. In addition, domestic IC equipment companies need to speed up R&D and massively increase their production capacity
