I saw their job opening page, seems that they are still using proprietary middleware like JBoss(Redhat), WebLogic(Oracle), Oracle Database, or MSSQL.
Might be redflags for SMIC.

The choice of the platform is done way earlier in the design process than where they are now. Typically it is a design decision on which the customer should fully agree (in writing) before actual implementation starts.

BTW, I guess we are talking of a MES solution like this one:

@european_guy bro I think our suggestion and proposal had been studied by the Chinese BUT they should define what a Chinese chips is, for me everything that is FAB or made in China are Chinese. So my question IF implemented will it produce the desired result or with the impeding transitory recession may be the perfect time to introduced it?

CHINA IS SET TO GO CHINESE – USE CHINESE CHIPS OR PAY 400% MORE

The recent action of the U.S. against China is now making the Chinese government think more. As we all know, in the increasingly complex smartphone market, self-research is the foundation of self-sustenance. Only with Chinese technology can China prevent the action against Huawei from hitting other companies. At present, the popular mobile chip brands globally are Qualcomm and MediaTek. These companies extensively use American technology but we have some fully Chinese

Chinese chips

Recently, Cao Haitao, a Distinguished Professor of Mindu Scholars at Minjiang University, said in an interview program that 30% of smartphones sold in China must use Chinese chips. He also suggests that any brand that chooses to do otherwise should pay up to 400% more tax. Cao Haitao also said that the purpose of this is to cultivate the Chinese market. This is because when there is a market, there is income, and when there is income, there is R&D investment. Otherwise, it will always be controlled by others.
Regarding the semiconductor industry, he said that the semiconductor industry consumes a lot of resources in Taiwan. The average daily water consumption of

last year was as high as about 150,000 tons. The entire Hsinchu Science and Technology Park enterprises consume 140,000 tons of water a day.

CHINESE CHIPS ARE BELOW PAR AT THE MOMENT

Chen Keming, former director of the Taiwan Economic Research Institute of Huaqiao University and director of the National Taiwan Research Association, said that

is the leader in the semiconductor industry in Taiwan, but its high valuation is a problem. 80% of TSMC’s shareholders are overseas, and only 20% are in the hands of Taiwan compatriots. In other words, 80% of the money the industry makes is taken by foreigners.

This topic has also aroused heated discussions among many netizens. Everyone’s opinions are also different. Some say that this should be done, and some netizens think that it should be treated calmly. Many believe that if the Chinese government accepts the usage of only Chinese chips, then smartphone performance will be really poor. What do you think? Is this a good move should it pull through?

The i6R-300 mask defect inspection equipment independently developed by Yuwei Semiconductor is based on the further upgrade and development of the i6R-100 and i6R-200 mask defect inspection equipment that has been widely recognized by the industry. The i6R-300 adopts a high-precision light and dark field dual detection system, which can quickly and efficiently detect subtle defects on multiple surfaces of the photomask at the same time, and provides functions such as defect classification and panoramic inspection, providing key data for process control. In order to improve production efficiency, the i6R-300 inspection equipment meets the complete SEMI automation standard and can be flexibly connected to factory automation tools such as OHT and AGV. In addition to the inspection function, the i6R-300 also provides a one-stop solution for reticle cleaning and multi-type mask support, which can flexibly meet the process control needs of different customers.

Yingjie Electric: At present, the company provides power supply for the mocvd equipment of Zhongwei (AMEC), and also cooperates with North Huachuang (NAURA)

daily economic news2022-08-08 13:56:16

Every time we pass the AI Express, some investors ask questions on the investor interactive platform: First: the company currently supplies products from cultivating diamond equipment manufacturers, mainly high temperature and high pressure (HPHT) method or chemical vapor deposition (CVD) power supply. Second: The company has been in the pan-semiconductor field for many years. The recent acceleration of domestic substitution is a good opportunity for the company. Has there been a trial of new semiconductor power supplies in the past two years? Third: What proportion of the order bidding for the supply of China Micro and North Huachuang can be obtained?

Yingjie Electric (300820.SZ) stated on the investor interaction platform on August 8 that the company is in a steady growth in the number of orders and customers in the field of electronic materials such as semiconductors. In the first half of this year, orders for electronic materials such as semiconductors increased. The growth rate is the fastest among the company's various products. Among them, the equipment power supply used to make the third-generation semiconductor material - silicon carbide has the most obvious growth; currently, the company is supporting the power supply for China Micro's mocvd equipment, and North China Chuang also has cooperation.

Maybe the result of SK not joining the Chip 4, Micron is asking its rival and fellow US company WD to form an alliance? From the looks of thing they didn't get or received less subsidies compare to Intel, An acceptance that NAND is a lost cause and the US may focus on Logic and DRAM instead.

If he refers to baseband chips (Qualcomm, Mediatek), the only domestic producer nowadays is UNISOC and the actual chip is manufactured by TSMC.

It is not very clear to me the rationale behind the proposal. To give a push to UNISOC? So that it will be for sure put in entity list shortly thereafter? To make the phones even more expensive so that mobile phone market in China will shrink even more?

This is a proposal I don't understand. It seems to me very prone to be counter sanctioned by US without any clear advantage for China.
