Afaik Taiwan made it illegal for Chinese companies to poach Taiwanese IC engineers
Then match the pay. What's there to prevent the engineers from flying to Kinmen, grabbing two basketballs, and making a swim for Xiamen?

So much for being about democracy and freedom.Afaik Taiwan made it illegal for Chinese companies to poach Taiwanese IC engineers
So aside from Ukraine and China, the other large producer is Russia. That's going to be for all the countries that sanctioned Russia. With prices for neon gas in China shooting up 1000% (by some report), there is no better time than now for China to takeover this critical part of high grade neon gas supply. I've heard that TSMC has enough neon gas stored for 1 year of production disruption. Even so, many smaller players do not have such a luxury. It seems inevitable this will cause major supply issues over the next few months.China's share in global neon supply may rise to 50 per cent from 30 per cent, as some foreign buyers switch to Chinese production to maintain a stable supply, said Chen Zhina, a general manager at Changzhou Naxin Special Gases Co in the eastern province of Jiangsu.
Chen estimated that before the war, Ukraine produced about 40 per cent of the world's neon, while Russia accounted for 30 per cent.
Global consumption of neon for chip production reached 540 metric tons last year. The gas is needed to make laser light sources in lithography systems.
I think at the very least China should guarantee neon gas supply for its own industry and either stop or curtail exports. So aside from Ukraine and China, the other large producer is Russia. Looks like Allen has to do his thing, except to Softbank.Actually this looks to me like bad news. ARM China was designed to insulate China from possible Western sanctions on ARM chip design licensing. By breaking ARM China from ARM they will likely cut ARM China from future core and architecture licenses.
Would be nice if ARM China could produce with the help of all of the chinese tech giant's a better core than Cambridge.Looks like Allen has to do his thing, except to Softbank.
The first step to innovation is technology transfer.Would be nice if ARM China could produce with the help of all of the chinese tech giant's a better core than Cambridge.
