Chinese purchase of Su-35

Words Russia willing to sell AL41F and even license production of that if price is right. Their objective is to preempt WS 15.
WS15 is part of the development of China's aircraft engine industry and cannot be pre-empted. That development is extremely expensive and the experience of developing and maintaining cannot be thrown away. Russia has enough experience in the sector to know that.

Though the sell may be a deal worth consideration. The underlined texts are unwarranted. It is akin to (not good example though) "a drug dealer tap the shoulder of a healthy person on the street and says 'I am willing to sell the strongest cocaine to you so all your future money will be mine and you will die young'". Nobody is stupid enough to buy into that, nor any drug dealer is stupid enough to use that tactic. I hope I am mistaken you of stirring up negativities between Chinese and Russians.;)

Just like Su-35, this supposed AL41F is not going to preempt anything China is doing at home. It is just a limited deal that has a good value/cost ratio for a specific time and circumstance.

At least grab the initial J20 engine procurement program at least for 5 years and up to 7 to 8 years. After that, who cares!
That's money in the bank and mission accomplished from Russian side.

The AL-41F wil also preempt further usage of WS10A/B on J15/16/11D
When you have AL-41F , you don't need WS10A/B/G, that's russian rationale.

Saturn has already lost to Salut for the Chinese market. If the SAC fighters are going to use Russian engines, they'll use Salut AL-31FM2s instead of Saturn AL-41F1S.

SAC isn't even using Salut engines so why do you think they'll use Saturn engines? The engine preference of SAC goes like this: Liming engines > Salut engines > Saturn engines. The second option hasn't even been taken so Saturn isn't even in consideration right now.

Both AL31, AL41 coming from Saturn. In fact AL41 is an enhanced derivative of AL31.
plug-n-play, plug-n-play,man.
