I'm looking forward to this sci-fi movie coming out in a few months called The Three-Body Problem. It's based on a novel by Liu Cixin, which won the Hugo award in 2015 for Best Novel. The director said that he wants to do justice to the novel and the budget is 200 million Yuan.

I'm not sure how far along they are with this movie, I would've thought that a trailer would've come out by now. I'm interested to see how it turns out, but without a trailer I think I can't say I'm excited.

Especially because the first book is probably the most boring of the trilogy.

I got so used to watching Jackie Chan play roles with a slap stick approch that i felt he was miscast for the movie.I aslo found it kinda lacked continuity and continual change in the spoken language rather annoying.

Are you talking about Dragon Blade, by any chance?

I just watched that movie the other day, and it was one of those "so bad it's good" movies. I literally laughed out loud in the scene where all those armies in different costumes attacked the Romans. It was such a ridiculous caricature of real cultures, you just couldn't take it seriously.

The movie had some nice portrayals of Roman tactics, but I was really disappointed that they didn't show any military capabilities from the Han side.

Yes I I was referring to 'Dragon Blade'. I was using Chrome at the time and sometimes it does not let me use the 'Quote' function.

Yes, it would have been a interesting matchup. While I dont know how they would have coped with Roman tactics, I do think the crossbow so well utilized by Qin Shi Huang would have still given the Han a advantage.

I recall invading China was on Tamerlane's bucket list. I wonder how he would have got on had he lived to do so.

And one on one, how well would Kublai Khans soldiers cope with the stylized Samurai style of fighting if his invasion force was able to land.

I remember Jackie Chan had a movie that there is a jacket that would give the wearer special power. Anyone remember the name of that movie?
